Any newly hired QCE actually know how the incentive - is to be calculated. Was this just

Posted: Aug 12, 2013

a ploy to get us to accept a positions.  Has anyone actually earned any incentive.  I was told it was forthcoming but I'm coming up on my 2nd payperiod and there is no mention of incentive pay on my paystubs.  What gives?

In Process - NTSQC

I am a QC for 3 years. We are not yet receiving any incentives. We have been given some information on points accrued for certain errors found, but nothing yet on how the incentive will be calculated. At our last call they said we would have another conference call when final details are worked out. Also received an email stating that incentives are on "hold" because production is not at the level it needs to be. In other words, when incentive goes into effect all jobs will need to be proofed 100% and if production doesn't pick up that will put work in jeopardy of being late. At this time many accounts are only "blanks review" so can be sent through more quickly.

Hope this doesn't confuse you more, but there will be a bonus -- time frame is not sure yet. It was not just a ploy to get you to sign on.

No the original poster but thanks for the info. I was - considering a QC position but after

reading this board and now this incentive that is being advertised but on hold, I plan to just move on. Why advertise if it's on hold and not in place. Nowhere does the ad state that it is coming in the future. The ad reads as if it is currently in place. That's deceptive.

Thanks again for sharing the information, but I think I'll pass now.

Wow, if it is not already in place I can't imagine - the horrors to come for the MT

[ In Reply To ..]
FIESA garbage has ramped up big time this last month so when QC hit-men are actually getting paid for creating errors, we are in huge trouble.

I can't take it anymore and am not waiting for this to begin in earnest. This is my heads up to get out of Nuance and I am telling them the new QC Nazi nightmare is why.

That is just out and out paranoia. QC does not have the time to - NTSQC Fed Up

make up errors.

One thing you fail to realize (or don't want to) is that the QC who touches that report is then responsible for that particular report. They are subject to post delivery audit at that point in their name. Are they going to correct everything? You betcha. It's now their name and stamp going on that report.

Here's an idea. All the MLS who think QC is a waste and making up errors, why not spend a week in QC with your years of experience and see just how rewarding it really it. You'll find it's a thankless job, believe me. Bad ESL? You 'ain't heard nothing yet.

QC has production requirements to meet without even taking into consideration the incentive or bonus that is currently not being paid out. The requirements are no piece of cake either. Try it for a week and see how you like it and then come here and read about all the unhappy MLS who don't want to take responsibility for their work because they have so many years experience. Then you can post your view from the other side of the fence.

It's not paranoia. In the last month QC "corrections" - have increased in a big way
[ In Reply To ..]
We are talking about very, very subjective things now being counted off, such as commas and the words "the" "an" "a" and grammatical changes that are necessary but can be extremely subjective from person to person but in NO WAY change meaning of dictation.

There has absolutely been an increase in FIESA critical errors since July 1st. You can get all self-righteous and angry if you choose but the MTs on the front line KNOW this is happening.

Regardless, when you run a business that is so anti-MT you will begin to lose all of your seasoned MTs. I have been in this business for 15 years, have always been above 99% (until July 1st started and now at 97%). I am out of here. I refuse to be abused and I really suspect Nuance is in for a mass exodus here in the next few months.

You are giving it to the wrong person - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
It would be nice if your bosses explained this to everyone, but you are talking to the wrong person here. This poster is QC. They don't have a darn bling blang thing to do with your final scores. It's QA you need to talk to, but they are famously missing from the board. QA equals post-audit scores. You guys act like QCs have it so good and are out to get you. Believe me, they don't and they aren't. I was one. QA crap falls right down the hill to QC and then to the MT (or MLS, whatever). Even if QC did edit 100% of your reports, that score doesn't mean anything to your actual score. Only the QA post-audit scores count. So, please, give the poor QC a break.
Sorry, no break for QC. QA is not the point here. - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
The critical alerts from FIESA have tripled or more since July 1st. Getting so many of them is demoralizing and they are often wrong and often contradict each other. And since it is QC, TL says don't worry about them and will not reverse them.

This is about morale and the new avalanche of "errors" from QC is ridiculous. So, no, I won't give QC a break. The most certainly don't give me one if they think I should have used a semi-colon instead of a comma and deduct 0.25 from my score a dozen times in a single report.
Why are you complaining about your job QC? - xx
[ In Reply To ..]
You took it on knowing full well you would encounter the worst dictators. That's what you get paid for. Also, you seem to forget, without MTs you wouldn't have your better paying position. So, quit your griping, you have nothing to gripe about. You're ridiculous.
So you are basically saying it is ok for the MLS to gripe - but not the QC. Now who is ridiculous.
[ In Reply To ..]
Unbelievable.
For once, I would like to see QA reply to these posts - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
The beef isn't with QC, it's with the QA. The QA are the ones behind the post-audit scores that count. Leave the QC alone for once. Also, QA people, I'd sure like to hear from you on these issues.
QA are offshore - NTSQC
[ In Reply To ..]
You will not be hearing from QA on this board as to my knowledge QA are all offshore and this board is restricted to US. We would all like to hear from them, I know, but it will not happen.
There are accounts (very few, probably 1 now) - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
that only allow onshore QA. I have worked on that account, if it still exists (for about 1 second they allowed me to work on it and I had to beg at that). I remember a gentleman who QA'd my report (post-audit, that is) and I was shocked to get a "good job" or something similar from him. I nearly fell off my chair. I tell you, it made my day. He was from the US. He was a good QA.

Blanks only - Chavera

[ In Reply To ..]
Wow, poster! Blanks are the only things being QC'd for now but soon ALL JOBS WILL BE 100% PROOFED? Is this true? It seems it would behoove us MTs to not pick up on production. Does this make sense to you?

If it hasn't yet "kicked in" then perhaps you can - answer this.

[ In Reply To ..]
What the heck is with all the major errors? Honestly, I know I'm human and can make mistakes, but some of these are just completely off the wall and obviously fabricated. I know my work after 15+ years and this is just nuts. Is this just a dry run or something?

I'm curious how long it will take - ch

[ In Reply To ..]
for upper management to figure out they are paying QC too much in bonuses and figure out a way to screw them over like they did the MTs. Good luck with those bonuses.

great new plan - just one of your MTs

[ In Reply To ..]
thus, lies the catch 22. We can't produce what you want and yet be nitpicked to death at the same time. After 25 years of trusting myself, I now doubt everything I hear and type. And TAT has just been horrible. I can't believe these accounts are putting up with this. I hope to hear how this grand plan works out from another job.

Newly Hired MT
Aug 31, 2010

Hello, I am new to the forum and recently hired as an at-home MT. It has been a year since I completed college MT courses at a tech center. The employer, saw my resume online. I have a p/t job that I've had for 2 years in addition to the MT job. Both jobs, are flex in hours, although the MT employer would like full-time. It pays 8 cents for every 60 characters. I would really love to drop the p/t job because it miserable in many ways. Can someone break the pay down in other terms? W ...

Newly-Graduated MT
May 27, 2010

I'm a newly-graduated MT - I just graduated 4 weeks ago. I'm feeling really nervous, reading all the postings here, because it sounds like I chose the wrong field to go into. And I had to spend my IRA funds for these classes, too! I went through a 1-year certificate program (it actually took me two years to finish because of the way classes were scheduled). I feel it was thorough education - anatomy/physiology, pharmacology, lab/diagnostic tests, human diseases, medical terminology, ph ...

Newly Graduated MT..and Scared
May 04, 2011

So the second week of April I got my graduation certificate in the mail from At-Home Profession's Medical Transcription Program. I am excited, I am ready for some MT work. I have been applying to places online and have sent out introduction letters to 20 different clinics and doctors offices with my information and business cards. Most places that are looking for MT's on this website require at least 1 year of experience and I can understand that. I am a newbie and no one likes to carr ...

Frustrating Job Search As A Newly Credentialed CPC-H
Apr 23, 2013

I became credentialed as a CPC-H in September of 2012 after completing AAPC's CPC-H training course.  I have been searching for employment since then and completing CEUs as I search, such as AAPC's ICD-10 anatomy and pathophysiology training which provides for 14 CEUs.  I just had an interview for an ambulatory coder job listed by a major healthcare center in Seattle who is putting me in the inexperienced file as a newly credentialed CPC-H with 20 years' experience as a ...

Newly Graduated. Searching For Companies
May 14, 2013

I recently graduated MT school from Career Step and I'm in the process of looking up companies that would be good to apply for. I have a small list of potential companies but I would rather not apply without any feedback on the company first. I'd rather not be offered a job and take it not knowing anything about them. If you know anything (good or bad) about the following companies I would greatly appreciate your input! MedScribe TriStar RI Transcription Quality Transcripti ...

Will I Get Hired?
Sep 06, 2010

I have a question for all MedQuist MTs . . . I called them and was told that I qualified and passed MedQuist's test. That was about a week ago. I was told that I am still being "considered" and "reviewed." One recruiter told me that it would just be a matter of time before they could get through all of the paperwork. Another recruiter simply told me my file was still being "reviewed." What does this mean? Does MedQuist always offer jobs to those that pass their testing? Or is it possible t ...

Also, am interested in insurance costs?  Some straight answers would be most appreciated. Thanks, Charlie ...

Does Anyone Ever Get Hired....?
May 30, 2012

Does anyone ever get hired from these companies who are continually posting help wanted ads?!?!?  I have applied to at least 15 companies posting ads for help only to sit here waiting for at least 5 weeks, so far, for an answer to any for which I applied!  I have been a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years as well as a QA worker for over 5 years.  My resume is on par with what I consider to be some of the best, yet I never receive an answer to my applications.  I realiz ...

Too Old To Get Hired?

Anyone Hired?
Apr 24, 2015

All the ads on the job seeker's board have hundreds and even thousands of responses.  Does anyone ever really get hired?  One of the ads wants someone to start "within the next hour," and that was a few days ago and it now has hundreds of responses.  Why is that ad still even posted?  Only rarely does a company take its ad down or post a message when positions are filled.  Do the other companies just not care?  Can it be that all those hundreds and thousands of ...

After typing five tests today for one company and then 3 more for another company I am wondering why I haven't been called back on any of these jobs.
