Now that they have taken away our Big 5 holiday pay, does anyone out there feel invaluated and demoralized? To add fuel to the fire, my account has no dictation on the holidays. So not only do I lose the pay, I lose the pay and 1/4 we are supposed to be paid if we do work the holiday. I made no holiday plans on Memorial Day and sat here with no work. If I had a lick of sense, I would get the hell out of Dodge.

However, I don't understand having to work, there being no work, then being told to "clock out" as if that answers everything. OK, I am to sit here all day with no work, also no holiday pay. At least with Webmedx, we got holiday pay, so it made sense to sit with no work to a degree. I can't make plans for a holiday to do something with my family or friends, because what if there is work, yet I'm not allowed to stay clocked in and get paid for sitting. Very demoralizing.
I guess I don't understand how it is legal to schedule someone to work, then if you have no work for them, they are expected to clock out, but "keep checking back" for that elusive job here and there.

[ In Reply To ..]If they're doing that, be sure to save those emails (forward them to your personal email address so they're off that computer and mail system if they pull the plug on you someday). Being told to keep checking for work but not paying you for that time is illegal.

I have resorted to just taking a screen shot of the email and saving that or straight copying and pasting everything, but don't know if those are useful at all.

First they wiped out all vacation days except for 10 (some of us were never allowed to use our days so had WEEKS), then they combined all days into bulk days, sick, etc. Then they stopped personal days and reduced the amount of vacation days. Part of the lawsuit is they expected you to sit there and wait on work without paying you. Sounds like Nuance is more of the same.

Any one else not getting paid for your holidays and vaction days??? My paycheck reflects that I did not get paid my PTO time, I am guessing because I did not meet the minimum page count for the pay period which make you ineligible for benefits. Thought that after not having enough work for a couple years now and always chasing work, I'd now have a "real job" as an employee and wouldn't have to worry about a steady paycheck and paying the bills anymore. The reason I thought this was because at the interview and in their professional company emails, they use all the "real job" words: Shift, scheduled hours, overtime, PTO, benefits, etc. I felt relieved to finally have a "job." Just got the email today that effective 10/01/2010, my MTSO (whom I will not name) will no longer be paying holiday pay (aka 1.5 cpl) for any holidays anymore b/c of "the economy." R U *** kidding me? First of all, I thought that the recession was officially over in 2009, but I could be mistaken.
