Thought that after not having enough work for a couple years now and always chasing work, I'd now have a "real job" as an employee and wouldn't have to worry about a steady paycheck and paying the bills anymore.
The reason I thought this was because at the interview and in their professional company emails, they use all the "real job" words: Shift, scheduled hours, overtime, PTO, benefits, etc. I felt relieved to finally have a "job."
What a big bunch of BS! I was "hired" over a month ago and there is never any work to do! This isn't a "real job!" Usually when a company in any other industry hires an employee to work a shift, you freaking WORK a shift.
The same stress I had as an IC I now have as an "employee" with a "real job!" No work, no pay, no food, no money to pay the bills!
No, I'm not going to sit around for 8 hours a day without pay for weeks just so you have some unpaid sucker sitting around waiting for you to throw them the scraps. They don't even have enough SCRAPS to go around! Screw you. This isn't a "real job" like you make it seem to be. LIARS.
Starbucks and/or Walmart, here I come.

[ In Reply To ..]problem is, you need to get away from the agencies and get a job directly with a hospital or big medical facility. Direct hiree for the facility, no more middle man. Then work will be plentiful; and if the work is ever low, you get paid anyway. I work for a hospital an hour away and get paid hourly with incentive for production on top of it (tiers) and after working for my last agency for 8 years, I finally feel valued as a human being.

I am tier III and I still am not at top pay. Today I asked my CCM for a raise and she said she will put in the paperwork. Why do I feel I still will be denied even though I have met all the requirements. More than likely I will be denied because they do not want any MT to make above minimum wage. At the time it was a good rate, now not so much--outside typing service does the overflow easy stuff , we IC's are left with the ESL's, static and more difficult reports.
