silent type MTs - getting paid for your holidays - frustrated

Any one else not getting paid for your holidays and vaction days??? My paycheck reflects that I did not get paid my PTO time, I am guessing because I did not meet the minimum page count for the pay period which make you ineligible for benefits. However you cannot meet the minimum page count if THERE IS NO WORK AVAILABLE. This is the last straw for me!!!!!

Can't believe anyone is even still working there..I left a while ago, best decision I made..BTW, you will not get paid for any vacation time you have if you leave...it is a sinking ship!

I'm not sure why, if someone is not meeting their quota, you have not moved on to at least a second company so you can support yourself.

I left as soon as I starting sitting there having to try and beat out other MTs for the one or two jobs trickling in. No way to live. Not sure if it's a sinking ship or not, but it surely is a company I would never refer anyone I liked to.

Top off the lack of work with the lack of respect and it's bottom of the barrel IMO.

I agree with you, and that is why I left..and also this has been called a sinking ship on other posts in the past 6 months or so..not the first time I have heard this company referred to as a sinking ship...

Lack of respect is putting it mildly, IMO. I just don't understand why any company would treat their employees with such disrespect and rudeness.

lose accounts - lost an icon

Did we just lose an account? I had them get on my computer and take off an account icon that I had for over two years and it just went away, no explanation.

Are we losing accounts and transferring people to what we have left so that we all "have a job?"

Just wondered how many others have lost icons for accounts in the last nine months?

What about her divorce? Has that had something to do with things?

Did you ask about it? I once worked for a small MTSO where they forgot to add my PTO to my paycheck every time I requested it.

Yes, asked and was told it was because I did not meet the minimum pages for the pay period and was told there was plenty of work so I should have been able to meet the quota.

I disagree with that, because those days were earned from past pay periods. I can understand maybe? that no PTO was added for this payperiod because I did not meet the quota, but to deny me pay for days I had previously earned I feel is unfair.

But, you live and learn. What goes around comes around. If they can live with it, I can live without it.!

Also, when you get NJA, it says to me there is no work there, so the question is..was there work or not? I seem to be the only one not making the quota of pages.

This has been going on since the beginning of the year. After a couple of months of twiddling my thumbs, I started looking and finally found a great job.

I think it's totally unfair to base your pay rate and vacation time on production when there's no work. Don't bother trying to confirm your page count, either because you'll just be told that her figures are correct. I had never worked for someone who disrespected her employees as much, and left everyone in the dark about what was going on. Leaving there was the best decision I ever made.

At your paystub. Does it say you worked 75 hours (they all say that btw).

So you have a TOTAL leg to stand on by telling Her Majesty that you worked full time and you either want minimum wage or PTO or you'll see her in court.

She makes it so you can't keep track of your PTO, you can't keep track of your pages, and god forbid you ask for this information.

Your paycheck says you worked 75 hours -- Call the DOL and let them know you're not being paid for PTO.

You are not alone on not getting pages. The only way I can is working through the night when everyone else is sleeping.

They can tell us anything and we have no proof. It sounds like you are not alone though.

Now that they have taken away our Big 5 holiday pay, does anyone out there feel invaluated and demoralized? To add fuel to the fire, my account has no dictation on the holidays. I have been with Silent Type for a year now. I enjoy the fact we work M-F schedule and no weekends. I also enjoy the fact that we have good QA. I also enjoy the fact we get vacation and bonuses. I also enjoy the fact we are offered health insurance and 401-K. Girls don't forget these perks when you are complaining about the work being light.
