Anybody else sick and tired of the MANDATORY overtime - sqt
Posted: Jun 05, 2012
I appreciate the work, but 3 months of mandatory overtime is taking a toll on my back, neck and hands.
I would give ANYTHING ON EARTH to have OT - anon

I honestly don't know why they let entire REGIONS of employees sit day after day after day with no work at all while other regions have mandatory OT for 3 months straight.
I don't get it.
I was OT all the time, but moved to another BOB with no work. - MT2

And I am tier 3. Really annoyed about it. At least with mandatory OT you don't have to worry about being short on bills, etc. We aren't paid much but it is something. Now I sit there waiting like in other jobs. I have never thought it would be like this. Because my account was moved to another CCM, and now often nothing to do but twiddle thumbs and worry (again). Be lucky you have more than you can handle. Many of us out there wish we had more than enough.
Just don't do it! - Carley

I have never and never will plan to work mandatory overtime unless I want to. I have been here for years and we get MOT emails all the time. 95% of the time I do not work it and nothing happens. Take a break! Tell your CCM you are not available this week. What do you think, they will fire you? Not going to happen.

I have been working mandatory OT for 3 months too. Yes, I am thankful that I have a job, but enough is enough!! To the MT that refuses to work OT, and does not respond to their emails, don't be so sure that they would not fire you... everyone is replaceable. Remember, you were hired on with an "at will" contract. You can be fired anytime, for no reason at all. Unless you have another job, don't tempt them.
Just say NO. It's up to the CCM to schedule and staff the accounts appropriately. - She is not doing her job. NM

Have not had work since last Monday. Bits and pieces. Some get OT. Why not give me a backup account that has all that OT for when my measley accounts have nothing. Or, how about taking someone off my measly accounts and moving them permanently to the OT accounts. How hard is this?
on accounts you have never seen before and likely will never see again. Last time this happened, I had audits on these reports...and failed them... ...
Could the suits be so devious as to require mandatory overtime so it temporarily boosts income so they look like they are paying a living wage? Or is there just a supply/demand problem?
I did check into mandatory or forced overtime. It is legal as long as it is not causing a safety risk and there are 16 states putting restrictions on forced overtime. Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Isl ...
Before anyone goes yelling about mandatory overtime being illegal, it's not, at least not in my state - and not federally either.
And what a great opportunity during my graduate midterm exams and Mother's Day weekend that I now have the awesome opportunity to work even more hours!!! I didn't have enough stuff to do this weekend, I'm so excited!
Shoot. me.

90% or more of my reports today have been pure &*%$. Sound quality is crap. I am so sick of tired being slowed down by trying to listen to these inept, noncaring dictators. OPEN YOUR MOUTH and speak clealy. Get the sound quality better.
Oh wait, I just woke up and smelled the coffee. that is NEVER going to happen.
ARGH!!!!!!
Is it too much to ask for 1 good day? ...
posting ads basically screaming how they need MTs. Gee, so why not answer me when I send a resume or at least answer my question as to why you do not even give me the courtesy of a response!! ...
I work on Saturday second shift on the west coast, so their Sunday EST maintenance period falls at 9 pm on Saturday night here. I've got other things to do on Saturday day than start work several hours early every single every other weekend. I've got a social life too. ...
I am sick of "mandatory" overtime! I know I should not complain b/c alot of you MTs out there are out of work and would gladly trade, so I hear ya there, but we are not notified of this OT until midday or at the end of the day, especially on Fridays, and we are not asked to work OT. We are told it is "mandatory." Okay, I understand back log and TAT and all that, but even though we are employee status with a set schedule and I work 6 days a week as it is, maybe I have plans and would've work ...
I work second shift, so, due to the time change from PST to CST, after 10 pm my time, the last hour of my shift shows up as the next day. I worked 1.5 hours this morning and then my regular 2:30-11 pm shift, so I figure I should be paid for 1.5 hours overtime, but my calculated time (I recently discovered this on the current time card page) shows me as only getting credit for 0.5 hours overtime with 8 RT (Regular time) + 0.5 OT hours showing up on Sunday and then 1 hour showing up on Monday as ...
Wow! The actual VP of the company wants us to do overtime this week! I thought for sure with that AWESOME incentive we had over the weekend that there would be absolutely no work this week! ...
Is OT calculated on ONLY the work week OT was worked? or both weeks of the pay period, even if one did not have any OT. Or, based on 3 months worth, etc. Thanks. ...
need overtime AGAIN? Sure thing, MModal, as soon as you give us back some of that 40% pay you stole from us AND give us back the vacation todays you stole! Why should we help you when all you do is take take take? Where are your overseas people you love so much? ask THEM! ...
Got an email that the company will no longer offer any OT at all costs and do not work more than your 40 hours. That is because they overhired and we do not even have enough for our 40 hours. I do not get it. ...
It seems like at one point we were told that AP cannot pay overtime. This has never been an issue for me before, but with the pressure to work extra recently, I could be heading into overtime territory. Has anyone with AP run into this problem? ...
I know when I call in to have work assigned (OT accounts) they always ask what kind I want. I usually just tell them "Whatever" and they confirm I do all work types, say thank you and away we go.
Now I am wondering. Seems like after we have had OT on my accounts the next day there is a MUCH higher than normal ratio of crappy dictators. Are the people working OT the day/night before allowed to choose to not do those dictators? I had one of the support staff th ...
Just heard Webmedx just paid between $20-40/hr (yes hourly rate!) to service new accounts on an overtime basis. Can anyone validate this information. ...
let's get busy folks POD out of TAT and OT offered, WFTL says OT has to be approved by HDSM or TSA... any other abbreviations???
Yes this whole thing was dripping with sarcasm ...
Not only cut in pay, it seems like the OT is no longer time and a half. I can't believe the amount of money I have lost. Anyone know how they figure overtime?? Also, I seemed to notice that whenever we complain about FIESA, like about them picking short reports, it seems to happen even more. It makes me think they probably read this forum too and get a good laugh out of it. Sorry, but I tend to believe they resent us because we make more money than they ...
