This just tells who owns it and corporate lingo. It does not really tell what the functions are. I came across the info as well and was looking for something, I guess, more that I could understand. Not a tech person myself. I always wonder about this stuff.
Thanks.

and hopefully alleviate some of the fears. This is for remote access but you have to put your PC in host mode for them to access your PC.

We already do that every time we call them - not happening

This wsa the info I was looking for. So, am I to believe this is not spyware and "they" are not monitoring me? It's only for IT help?
Oh boy, can I get myself paranoid over this.
Sometimes, paranoid is ok... - sm

You must respond . . . - anon

You have to e-mail your TSM you have installed it. Sorry ladies/gents see no way around it if you want to work for them.
tell them you put it in,, - how they gonna know?

The way around it is to have them send you a company computer
I have a company computer - anon

So there is no way around this. Big brother will be monitoring to see if I complied or not.
If I had a company computer then I would do it - sm

If they can tell who has and doesn't have it already to know - sm

who to send emails to requiring it be downloaded, then it's spyware and they'll know. I wish they would tell us what all it will be used for. If it's simply for tech support, then we could download it at the time we ever need tech support... though I know more about computers than any of their techs.
They know who has it because they pay for it - SM

That's what it looks like to me anyway. It also includes antivirus protection. I've been using it for at least a year with no problems whatsoever.
It also scans and reports back daily... so they know that way too... - sm

It says it runs constantly in the background and runs a daily scan and reports the results to see which hardware and software you have, etc. I use an old dinosaur computer & I really can't handle yet another thing running in the background all day. An unnecessary thing at that.
The email I got said something about it being company policy to allow them maintain my computer but I've never seen that. I don't want them being able to access my computer whenever they want and install/remove stuff. I used to have one computer just for work but it died so I've been having to use my personal one until I can save up enough (on these meager wages) to buy a new one.
I just wondered if anybody refused to install it and if so, how well that went over. ...
Did anyone besides myself have an issue with the ihnstallation? I was able to get into Inner Circle without a problem; however, the screen shot sent looks nothing like what I was looking at after logging in. All I had was a long list and upon clicking on any of them, not one thing happened. Hovering over Resources did not do a thing, clicking on any of the tabs did not do a thing. What a pain. Why tell us to contact supervisor if any issues; they're not techs, they don't know wha ...
Landesk is a tracking you.
This is what the software does.
LANDESK extended device discovery is passive technology that detects network-connected devices in real-time, even if they’re behind a firewall. LANDESK also uses active discovery technologies including SNMP management, ping sweeps, and more.
It allows tracking of devices in their network (your computer). ...
Anyone download that LANDesk that they want installed? I installed it, but when I double click the icon a message pops up saying something about application control and it will not open. How stupid is that? Any ideas or help or should I forget about it, which is my preference. ...
I'm not sure, but it seems to me that this whole issue came around about a year ago, telling us we must install it, and upon looking into it, it was my impression that it would allow MM to track everywhere we go on our computers, so I didn't install it. I asked for a company computer, and the matter was eventually dropped until now. I don't know what to do. ...
I am applying for a position under "Job Seeker's Board." When I tried to send the E-mail from the job posting, I got this message.
"The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D"
Can somebody please tell me what it means and how to fix it?
Thank's!

Not that I really WANT to hear from the Q, but am I the only one who does not have e-mail still? I can log into MQ Central fine, click the "my community" button, and the regular e-mail page does come up but with only four boxes at the top (no e-mail list). One of those boxes says something about currently experiencing problems with MT mail, we are contact with the vendor trying to resolve issues. That's it. Rest of the page is white. Am I the only lucky one -- an ...
Is anyone having trouble getting into MQ mail? When I try to get in I get a message that says "No content available - Please check if there is content defined for the markup of your client device." ??????!!! ...
I've read a few postings about a "pay cut" that's suppose to take effect soon... I never got such an e-mail. Can someone explain what it said, where it was posted please? (ot cut and paste it here) I checked all my e-mail this weekend, went over everything with a fine toothed comb and got no such e-mail.
How can they just cut pay? ...
Now we have to fill out a Q-Care ticket and make sure we justify why we used F11?? Just another way for them to squeeeeeze a few more pennies out of us.

See MQ e-mail. Anyone care to offer an opinion on what the "Mission ONE Project Announcement" really means. Also note back-to-back 4-hour maintenance windows, one on 09/18 and one on 09/25. Wonder what new changes are coming. Don't remember 4-hour maintenance being performed back-to-back. ...
Doubt he will even read it but if he does, it was nice knowing all of you.
I did not use any bad language, but I did speak my mind.
I'm not even totally sure the big picture includes MTs/MEs so I guess we should all be looking to change occupations.
Either way, sooner or later I will be hired outside of this industry. Very sad indeed. It was quite a career until ASR or should I say MQ reducing pay for ASR and buying up every other company out there.
I did state it shou ...
Okay, it is 8 p.m. Friday night. Just checked e-mails. Noting my CCM sent one out at 4 p.m. Little concerned as to its content. She stated mandatory conference calls in the next 2 weeks with an "agenda," but will be brief. With what I am reading on this board, I am worried what this might be about. Hope I am one of the first ones on the call so as not to have 2 weeks of worrying. Anybody with any thoughts? ...
Oh, is the man who cut my pay and sends all the work who knows where? the man, yeah, sit there and gloat. I love the part where he says "ensures highly accurate speech understanding". Who told him that? Why is that with some of the easiest doctors you have to still change at least 1-2 stuff in each sentence? That system is not at 99%. Let him try to edit and a report and I am sure he will say the same thing I say sometimes (Where in the he** did that come ...
