Wooo Hooo. No 'client input' for last week's work! - dnr
Posted: Nov 20, 2013
No emails from client audits with what the claim was dictated versus what was in the report. I deserve a prize! :-)
yay! Definitely deserve prize. I award you triple ASR line rate 4evr. - comma not zzz

One of mine chose to nitpick some minor typo while ignoring the fact that the entire surgical history was missing due to sloppy, fast dictation habits...

HAPPY MT WEEK - Have A Great Week May 17, 2010To all you wonderful MTs working and slaving your lives away, Happy MT Week. I appreciate you. I appreciate your kindness when I have a rant or a rave, when I'm at my wits end with the constant changing around of clients, client profiles and the never ending dings being thrown at me. I appreciate knowing that I am not alone in this struggle.
It is because of all of you, and only you MTs on this board that I manage to stay in this game. We are treated as less than second class citiz ...

Payday This Week (Thanksgiving Week) Nov 24, 2014Does anyone know when pay will be distributed this week? A big deal seemed to be made about getting payroll in quickly, so Im wondering if pay will be released before Thursday or if its just going to be Friday as usual. ...
At 99.4% This Week, Congratulated That I Improved Over Last Week. Feb 13, 2015Good grief. I did not change the way I edit. It so depends on how many commas they think you should have. Yes, I made an unusual (for me) mistake last week, but the rest of passing an audit is dumb luck of whether you get a realistic auditor or Ms English wannabe.
Everybody must be under pressure because of the cesspool as I see a lot of mistakes when I look up past reports to help with these mush mouths and accents. The time czar wants schedule changes, but I see no problems with turna ...

Looking For Input Nov 18, 2009Never thought I'd be posting this, but I need others' input. I have been working as an MT since 1988 and have lots of varied experience, including acute care, in different specialties. Until recently was only working part-time. I decided a few weeks ago to look for full-time work. Have been sending out resume' on top of resume', but so far have gotten zero response. Now I know companies are hiring, so I'm wondering . . . does anybody have an ...
I Want Input From MTs!! Feb 05, 2010Hey everyone out there in MT land!
I am looking for some input from you all. I have started my own business in transcription, and we have clients and employees!! We are still small but we are growing VERY quickly.
I have been doing TONS of research into lots of things. Some of the topics include offshoring (which we REFUSE to do...we are only for US and Canadian MTs), transcription wages, EMR concerns, as well as the entire process of transcription and how to make it easier n ...

Would Like Some Input Nov 11, 2010I would like some information about what it is like to work at MQ. I know a lot of people are unhappy, as they are with any company but I am still considering accepting a position. Can any provide information on work flow, production averages on straight and ASR, insurance costs. I know every company has its pros and cons and I would like to hear from someone who has been there a while, knows the work available, dictation quality, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciate ...
Can I Get Some Input On PTO Please. Jul 11, 2011We only have 3.?? hours every pay period of PTO until after 4 years with the company. I was off last week and for each day for PTO I indicated 7 hours per day. This will give me 1 extra day of PTO over the year at 7 hours pay. I do not know if that is allowed, they may require us to indicate 8 if we took the whole day off. Will see what happens about that. I wish I could put 6 hours per day, leaving me more hours of PTO.
We have 2 days paid sick time, which I have ...
Thanks For The Input Jan 11, 2012I am very happy to have found this forum. I thank you all for the input on companies. I worked for a company for three years and was frustrated to the point of going nuts. I broke three keyboards and threw books at the wall. I had never experienced this when I worked directly for a practice and had to leave there too. I messed up my left wrist trying to make the lines they expected and took 10-12 a day since their platform was so very slow. I ended up taking a medical month leave of absen ...

New Client Mar 09, 2010Well, I certainly feel sorry for those 60 MTs they were able to persuade to go to work for them -- wonder what kind of promises they made them?? They've gotten this procedure down pat over the years -- drawing in unsuspecting MTs with promises of making more money. All I have to say is good luck, especially since they probably failed to tell them about all of the wonderful changes that are happening, like loss of pay for sending to QA -- make sure you've updated your antide ...
Why Can't They Have The Same CP For Every Client? Jan 06, 2013They should have one standard format across all clients and if any client wants it changed, they should charge them per change or addition a recurring fee. At the very least they should organize them better. Maybe take advantage of different font colors, so they are easy to spot in the CP panel, like: Physical exam: Stacked left, all caps subheadings. and then pick a color for exceptions and put them all in red so its easier to spot. ...
Looking For New Client Jul 08, 2013I am an independent contractor and have been doing orthopedic transcription for this client for 7 years. All of a sudden he is taking more and more work away and giving it to the "new" transcriptionist, who happens to be a friend of an employee of the office. I know this is a cut-throat, competitive business, but does anyone know of any physicians/small MT companies looking for an orthopedic transcriptionist? I only do this work in the evenings and on weekends as I have a full time day job. Than ...

Need Some Advice And Input... Jun 22, 2010I recently started working PT for a company. So far, everything has been great with them. Great work to do, good line counts, pay is on time every time and accurate. However, something in the back of my mind keeps bugging me. They didn't ask me to fill out a W-9 form. Is this normal for PT IC work? I mentioned it to them and didn't get a reply back about it.
Perhaps, I'm just being paranoid, but I'd like to know your th ...

I May Take A Job With Accentus. Looking For Input. Mar 11, 2012I would be doing cliniic work because I want the flexible 12-hour schedule to fit around a part time job working directly for a small hospital. I may end up being bored, but I want to give it a try. How is the clinic work and how is the Apex system? I have previously worked on DocQspeech and Escription. I really want no more than two accounts and to be mostly just left alone unless I screw something up. Is this possible with Accentus? ...

Looking For Input On QA Wage Apr 06, 2013I have been transcribing for over 20 years and my wrists are a little tired. The company I work for has offered me a position doing QA if I am interested. I was hoping for a little advice on what the going rate for QA is so I know where to begin my discsussion. I am hopeful I will be able to stay on with the company. They pay weekly so even a hit in pay switching from MT to QA would not be so bad. ...
