For the person(s) skipping jobs today. I am on to you and I will let my CCM know with job numbers and times dictated. I am sick of this. If you cannot do the work, flip burgers at Wendy's. I have seen some of the jobs you abandon with half of it typed, wrong format, blanks that a 3-year-old could understand, words missed. I am not perfect, but I do call myself an MT and for good reason. If I cannot understand something I will do my best with tools I have and keep the word as I hear in with context on a list in case I get it in the future.

I've only gotten a couple of jobs ever like that and wondered where they came from. There was a skip marker at the top already hiding the unnecessary info and one blank in the first paragraph. It was obvious the rest of the report wasn't listened to. Of course, I'm trying to finish the report as quickly as possible so I didn't have too much time to think about it. This post just reminded me of it.

"Breaked" Not Abandoned - MT

An abandoned job goes back to its original state and the next in line would never know it was abandoned. MT must have used the "Break" function.

No fears, your get paid for the whole thing. Just make sure you proof the whole thing, because it goes into your pay and your file.

For anyone who doesn't know, Break is only supposed to be used by an MT when they don't know how to do the Report Type and it comes to them by mistake.

Also, it seems that someone picked through the reports and did all of the short ones. All I transcribed today were 300 to 1000 second long reports.

I am a Tier 3 and have in repetition gotten a very poor audio dictator who is doing complicated procedures today. Before you start judging, recall they are to break if getting work for which they are not qualified. A lot of new people on today, as most "oldies" are off. According to the moderator of this site -- No one is supposed to be threatining anyone elses job, regardless of whether you are ticked off or not. If you are working, be glad because others are continuosly getting NJA. I do the reports, I don't like them and in my old age can hardly hear most of them by one particular doc dictating today; but... I would never ever presume to cause someone else to lose their job for any reason.

We all do the same type of work. And there was some text with lots of blanks. I am not afraid to leave blanks. We cannot know everything, but this person just gave up it looks like. It was a difficult dictator, but the more you do them the easier it is next time.

There are different tier levels still. Especially some of the new hires. It is policy that they can break/abandon if a job is not in their expertise tier. I get ILP work all the time coming back to me for yet another ASR redo. It is work and money I need too. Venting is one thing, threatining someone's job is another. . . We all vent on here. As my nickname sez -- I would really rather be fishing and enjoying the great Spring weather. Breathe everybody, please.

If someone looses power, internet, or for any reason DQS goes down in the middle of the job, IF the power/system/internet does not come back up within 30 minutes, the job goes back into the pool exactly the way it was when the power supply got cut off. We have a 30-minute time limit set to recover jobs. I know I have typed a nearly complete job before, lost internet, power, whatever, and didn't get it back within 30 minutes, so some lucky ducky got credit for all my work. Its just the way the chips lie. I guess I would rather have crappy left over work than no work.

I am not giving the benefit of the doubt. I happens all the time. I have seen reports with 9-10 blanks in them and have been able to fill them in when I get the jobs with the exception of 1 or 2. They are usually difficult dictators, but I have done them so long that they are not difficult for me. There is the repository and the MT can ask for samples if they can get them.

Meow... If it was so easy to fill in the blanks, then why are u complaining? Better yet, why would u feel the need to turn the bad MTers in? Feel grateful you got the blanks and the rest was somewhat easy. I had a doctor yesterday ALL DAY long that was the absolute pits, audio was poor on top of his ESL worse than most ESLs. I believe all my other in-this-state got him too. I think he took advantage of the holiday and worked on backlog; or we are just now getting the work rerouted because ILPs could not do them. Guess what if that is the case, reporting them will do you no good. Your hissing and spitting and sratching will only exhaust you and put you in the kitty crate for good. The ILPs can get away with anything. Don't get upset with other of US here in the good old USA. Not fair, nope, but like I said, you are obviously getting the job done without too much struggle.

Okay, I did not want to give too much info away, but here it is. I do radiology and get paid by the job. When a job is skipped it is usually over 10 minutes. So, while I am doing that job I cannot do any others and someone else (usually one MT is working with me) is doing all the other small jobs. Twenty 1-minute jobs an hour equals so much, but a job that takes a person 40 minutes is different. I do not mind doing them, but lets share the work. If I made $1 on each report and it is long and the other person makes 20 jobs an hour, well, you figure it out. And the jobs are not that easy, sometimes the MT puts in words that are not dictated or I have to change them. They do not know their stuff

Spoke with a couple of people and found out that abandoing a job does not work, it just keeps coming back so break is the only option on certain reports/for various reasons.

I had a job that was not in my tier level and I kept breaking it and it kept coming back. The only way I got rid of it was to abandon it. This was awhile ago, so maybe things have changed.

I was into my 5th note back to back from the same auth today. I'm level 4 and never "ditch" a report. I'm old school. Suck it up & learn the hard way as I did for more 10 yrs. I also understand losing power, etc. Now...Into my 5th note from the same doc, I was curious how many he did, so I looked it up. It showed they were all in MTs' hands. Yeah...I got the next 5 even though they were shown as already being w/ other MTs. I work on CS. Cherry picking sucks. Period.

I'm on Cornerstone, so I don't know if this will help you or not. We can go to "find jobs" and then search by doc, MR#, pt name, or whatever we're looking for. If we use the doc's name, it shows everything the doc has dictated & where the job is at that moment.

Apparently this doctor thinks that the new year coming up is 2012. He has dictated in two separate reports that these patients have procedures scheduled for January 2012 and they are in for their preoperative evaluation now. Either that or these patients are getting their preoperative evaluation more than a year in advance. I wish doctors/dictators could be reprimaned for their mistakes. ...

It is insulting to all of us with the way that MT pay has gone down the drain, it is frustrating and aggravating to look for a "decent" job these days, trying to work out which companies will treat you fairly, which ones lie about their platforms, work, etc., and not only do these companies not want to pay us what we are worth but now I see that MANY companies are requiring the MT to have or "be willing" to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of equipment. I recently changed my health care to Kaiser and have observed first hand and for the first time, the use of electronic medical records; they really are of immeasurable assistance to each provider who is treating the patient. I just ran into a local job already, MOWING GRASS. The lady's lawn mowing man just finished school and is quitting the mowing. It really stinks because after I complete a job it throws NJA at me. If I let if search for jobs long enough it will find me one. It seems they are either extremely low CPL or full of ESLs that means you also cant make any money.
