Reserved jobs - sick and tired

Just had 4 jobs from Radiation Oncology clinic "reserved" for me. I guess that is a little bit flattering? At least they know I am alive and able to type challenging dictation. I thought they didn't have a clue I still even worked here.

I always do an extra check on reserved jobs because in my experience, the reserved jobs are the ones I've been audited on!

Oh my. You are so right. I typed these and went back over them all AGAIN and relistened. Had no blanks. They were reviewed by QA. One had 17 minor feedbacks, another had 11, a third had 1 (different QA?). None of these "corrections" were of any significance whatsoever -- just nitpicking. Guess NJA first thing in the morning is the better option. So much for feeling flattered. According to these folks, I need to go back to transcription school. What a bunch of hooey.

made by the QA person were wrong according to the client profile. They request dates to be xx/xx/xxxx, and she changed each and every one of them to the expanded version - August 12, 2010. I also had "extraocular movements WERE initact" and she changed it to "extraocular movements intact." Incredibly petty stuff that affects patient care in no way, and I don't know for sure if she is even correct. I don't want to take the time to listen to the whole thing again and argue about it.

When I receive feedback from one particular QA person she changes a comma to a semicolon every time. For some reason she has a thing for semicolons and commas; but, changing a comma to a semicolon and vice versa is pretty petty.

She just changed it anyways and gave me about 6 feedbacks on that alone.

I went through QA changing dates back and forth so many times I was about crazy. One said do it this way. . The other says, NO! Do it that way. This literally went around a dozen times. That's what is mind blowing about MQ. Nothing is every settled. Constant changing things, only to change them back. What kind of management is that? Instead of so many MTs having to go back to school, the management of MQ should go to some serious professional management classes, and while they are attending classes the time they miss from work should have to be made up. (Preferably on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and weekends.) JMHO.

I'm new at MQ, started on 8/3/2010 or is it 08/03/2010? QA is driving me crazy! All those little things of NO importance. I wondered if they were just being mean to a newbie but it looks like they do it to everyone. I have 15 years experience! I know what I'm hearing/typing. I don't think I will get any kind of reply if I email someone to complain. Also, all those innocuous instructions that kept coming by email.... I think I will have to print them out and just delete all the extraneous material in them! All I need is step 1, step 2, etc. I don't care about who, what, where or why!!! I love being a transcriptionist and even though I am beyond "retirement age" I plan to continue for a few more years, but with this company? Also, I have questions regarding my timesheet but am unable to get an answer - no reply from my CCM. Arrrggghhh!

I have only been with Medquist now M*Modal since December of last year. Tonight when I went on I noticed that it said there were two jobs reserved for me. Does anyone know why that is? AP and Y views of the shoulder show that there is improved alignment with the humeral head as far as the deltoid s/l "apnea" and pseudosubluxation that were reserved initially. Thanks in advance felllow MTers! ...

It is insulting to all of us with the way that MT pay has gone down the drain, it is frustrating and aggravating to look for a "decent" job these days, trying to work out which companies will treat you fairly, which ones lie about their platforms, work, etc., and not only do these companies not want to pay us what we are worth but now I see that MANY companies are requiring the MT to have or "be willing" to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of equipment. I just ran into a local job already, MOWING GRASS. The lady's lawn mowing man just finished school and is quitting the mowing. Most postings are about how horrible the industry is and how impossible it is to get a job. I haven't been getting a second resevered job for quite some time and was wondering if I was the only one. I have told my manager and she said she would fix it about 2 months ago. It really stinks because after I complete a job it throws NJA at me. If I let if search for jobs long enough it will find me one. offered the same amount of money that they make in India now so that evens out the playing field. Seems that way anyhow. It seems they are either extremely low CPL or full of ESLs that means you also cant make any money.
