Oh brother! A corporate email about spheris - MQ is so positive they will win.

MQ has taken our merit increases, pay raises that we all should get every year (mine was 10 years ago), our bonuses, and our pay cut in half to be able to buy Spheris so the bigwigs can have more money in their pockets.

Oh brother. Makes me sick and here I am sitting here out of work.

They are already assuming they will win and plans are in place to "welcome" the Spheris MTs. So, which platform is everyone using, which time cards? Do the Spheris people get the joy and fun of FTR and lockdown and the swamp board? What about the managers from both companies- they certainly don't need any more management!

That is too funny. Transcend Services has a higher offer. - Hopefully Transcend OR Nuance will win!

Transcend Services Inc. is offering $78.25 million for Spherisâ�� assets and the stock of its subsidiary, the company said in a news release today.

Thatâ��s higher than the $75.2 million that â��stalking horseâ�� bidders MedQuist Inc. and CBay Inc. agreed to pay for the Franklin-based company when it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in early February.

â��Transcendâ��s management team is extremely excited about participating

Massachusetts-based Nuance Communications Inc. is also vying for the company.

Transcend and Nuance will go up against MedQuist, the nationâ��s largest provider of medical transcription services, in an auction scheduled for 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Spheris has already agreed to sell its assets to MedQuist, but the judge could choose to award the company to Transcend or Nuance if he deems their bids to be higher or better.

MedQuist appears confident that it will emerge the winner. In an email to Spheris employees late Thursday, Medquist CEO Peter Masanotti said the company plans to extend job offers as soon as the sale closes, probably by April 19. He emphasizes that the offers are contingent on MedQuist winning the auction.

â��The opportunity to bring together two world-class organizations, both with a commitment to delivering the highest levels of service and quality for our respective customers, is an historic event in our industry,â�� Masanotti said in the letter. â��We recognize that your talent and skill are essential to enable the continued success of the combined entity.â��

Spheris employs about 4,200 medical transcriptionists, including about 2,300 in the United States. Prior to its February bankruptcy filing, the company had about 400 people at its corporate headquarters on Carothers Parkway.

And then .... they get to take 80% of what ever we get and ship it off to India. It's a win-win for CB - 100% of Indian operations + 80% of American operations.

The sharks at MQ might think they are the victors, but their day of reckoning is coming. It ain't over 'til it's over and I think they are going to have a lot to answer for. I am a true believer in what goes around comes around. The execs at MQ have no right to call themselves Americans.

That made me very happy, although I have been an MT with MQ for 20 years, I am just glad that Spheris will have their group included. Just received e-mail from corporate stating that as they had previously stated they would be rearranging management, ccm's, etc. It went on to state that if you had been reassigned to a new CCM they would be contacting you in the future, but Thank GOD at the bottom it lists who your CCM will be and I am lucky enough to have the same CCM who I love and has always been good to me. A prime example of that is when I work every holiday for time and 1/2, but low and behold, there is mysteriously no work in the system. Because they press a button and send it all overseas for some poor sap to do for 5 cents a day, instead of paying me time and 1/2. There is no appreciation for the MT and our expertise anymore.
