MT shame for not meeting TAT. - NotMyProblem

I am so tired of receiving the frantic emails about TAT, I am tired of being on MOT, I am tired of attempts being made to make the MTs feel like it is THEIR fault the POD has the highest number of unedited jobs in the system. I am tired of groups being blamed for work going out of TAT when the problem is under staffing. We are human. We are limited in the amount of production we can crank out. If high volume is the case for a week or two, I can understand putting in a little overtime until we can get it back under control, but when it is a never-ending scenario, day after day, week after week, MONTH after MONTH, enough is enough. We are tired. Our brain and senses are dulled. HIRE SOME FOLKS to balance out the workload! If you do not, the MTs are not the problem, MANAGEMENT is!

[ In Reply To ..]I asked about raises and was told they just don't hand out raises. In other words you almost need to be MT of the year before even being considered. I may not be employee of the year, but I still work hard to try to meet Mmodal's impossible goals.

They don't want to admit that they've failed at anything, so we suffer the consequences. It is amazing to me that with all the shaming and pleading to keep the client happy that no one bothers to realize that the MTs are burnt out. OT since October, MOT since March at least in our POD. A week of pretend games and gift cards does not eliminate the shear weariness. At this point I don't care if they offered an extra $10 an hour to work I physically and mentally cannot do any more.

Does anyone feel this way about being an MT nowadays? It is horrible and scary to think of the future (or lack thereof) of medical transcription. All of the MTs I know, including myself have truly liked their job and tried to do the best we could no matter what. They try to get you to certify as an MT, join our organization they say, some companies (although not many anymore) want you to be a CMT, yet as I went onto the website to look something up, Indian transcription companies are advertising on the Benchmark website? have to offer sign-on incentives to get MTs to apply for work. Obviously they aren't real up on what is being said on these boards about their company and could care less as long as clients are lining their pocket with the money. As long as we work for slave wages nothing is going to change. I am in the same boat as a lot of the MTs, barely getting by. I just had to say... this is my 2 cents worth ...

Has anyone actually received pay for manditory meetings we attended discussing the transition from DTS to Transcend? Our acct mgr even sent out an email saying that payment on the LAST meeting would be delayed until this pay period, but I find nothing on my check stub to suggest we've been paid for any of them yet. If you have, where is the information located on your check stub? All I have is straight pay and holiday pay. TIA ...

Redirect the focus on all the added "upgrades" to their software they plan to buy (probably for hundreds of thousands of dollars) to "help us be more productive". Got news for them. You can only go SO fast. There IS a limit. And after all the emphasis on accountability and accuracy, do they not see that speed just increases errors ...
