One account after another being taken away, sent to India of course; every day waiting for work, and then when it comes in it's the bottom of the garbage can with audio so horrible you pick up about three words per sentence, with the impossibily of hearing critical dictation like medictions, doseages, etc.; a paycheck that was not even half of what I made before. Yep. . you're right. I didn't devote 30 years of my life to transcription to "cut" that.

up? As far as garbage reports, you either have an ear for it or you dont, can either do the work or you cant.
MT is changing and you have to change with it. Better get used to garbage reports cause that is our job now. Some of us can cut it, some cant. C'est la vie.

All MTSOs are the same, so leaving MM and going somewhere else is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Do you think it's easy for some of us to change professions now? I am 60 years old and have been doing this job for over 30 years. I'm sure people are just tripping over themselves trying to hire someone 60 years old with carpal tunnel and a stiff neck. I can't even be a Wal-Mart greeter because I can't stand for too long because I get a backache. So much for changing jobs now.

no one in history would have tried to change things for the better. We never would have broken away from brutal Britain and formed this great country. I can go on and on.....It was/is that very productive, sometimes necessary feeling of "unhappiness" that drove/drive people to seek better conditions and change things.

Who said anything about one bad one replacing the other? It should have been obvious I was referring to good accounts being replaced with bad ones. No one can pick up dictation that can't be heard. No one.

I am on about 98% ASR. The amount of lines I can do per hour depends on how good the ASR is, and it isn't good at all. I have to correct 75% of the document in addition to format every document according to whatever ridiculous demands in the CP for the multitude of accounts I receive during a shift.
There are some people doing okay to well. They have accounts with ASR of the quality we were promised. Some have accounts with a lot of report standards requiring only filling in a field here and there, if that. I was lucky enough to get a few reports like that last night, but they were outside my usual accounts, so I get to see how the "other half lives". I am so jealous of those who get that account as their primary account.
All is not equal in this company and, due to ASR quality and the presence or absence of standard text templates, some MTs are doing very well at MM, but, from what I see, not many of us are doing well as documented by the lph average of 186 according to Amy.

cant. Even happy MTs know there are many that are not and we agree that is horrible. But only unhappy MT can change that. You can imagine your life is horrible and everybody has it out for you and nobody is fair with you and nobody care if you can pay your bills. Or you can do something to change all that.
Well, yeah, nobody at MM cares if you can pay your bills but why would you think they would care? They are a business, in it for money. If this is a concept you cannot tolerate, this probably isnt the best job for you.
I just cant imagine living my life in such a dark state of mind. That doesnt make me perfect. It means I just know how I want to live my life and looking for the worse of everything is not how I want to spend my time.

hired them and pays them on production provides them with work. Maybe not on the schedule they prefer or the accounts they are used to but somewhere and somehow. There are people who have gone weeks without work.
Agree MM should always have work, but they dont. And if NJA - is intolerable, only U can change situation nm

the people who handle the work flow are supposed to analyze the situation, move people if necessary. Some areas have too much work, some not enough. Or they could stop hiring more people and use the people they have. They hire people, they need to give them work. They can't give them work, they need to let them go. End of discussion.
MM is what it is. If that doesnt work for you, only you can - change it. And MM, I am sure, would SM

I was totally shocked that they laid off the few that they did, they've been so unwilling to pay unemployment. We've established that MModal is America's greatest employer; they should start acting like it.

I have had horrible experiences with 2 companies in the past few months that I thought were different and would turn out much better than most medical transcription companies out there.

Anyone would be better off at a beginning clerical job that requires no skills at $10 per hour PLUS a couple of benefits, even if that just means you are an employee and have your taxes (i.e., social security, medicare) and other state/federally mandated business costs covered by the employer.

I have been having exceptionally bad audio lately from normally good dictators and wonder why. Could this be another cost cutting measure somehow, or maybe they okayed docs to dictate under water or in their car or wherever on old crappy cell phones or something?

Amphion was a terrible company for whom to work. Mean people. I take pride in my work only to have it slashed, sometimes ruined, turned in that way to the hospitals. I have noticed in my years as a transcriptionist the horrible sound effects I hear from some doctors. I just now transcribed a doctor who throughout the entire dictation must have coughed and loudly cleared his throat 20 times. I had another one who used to burp, chew food and yawn; dictating the entire time without pausing. AND believe it or not, I had a doctor FALL ASLEEP while dictating, no joke. I find this so rude it is not even funny. Not to mention the doctor ...

Does anyone know anything about Transcriptions Express? In researching them I found 3 complaints on the Rip Off Report about them. They, evidently, charge for early termination, is this standard?
