Does anyone know anything about Transcriptions Express? In researching them I found 3 complaints on the Rip Off Report about them. They, evidently, charge for early termination, is this standard? They also charge for equipment if you don't have any. I think this is just a way for some companies to increase their bottom line. It sounds like these were just disgruntled ex-employees. There have been no new complaints since 2009 and the BBB doesn't have any complaints about them. If you are familiar with them I would love to hear whatever you have to share. Thanks.

If you live in Arizona, this may work out but if not, I don't think so. On their home page regarding employment one requirement is that you have reliable transportation and are able to pick up tapes. This company does not seem to have remote access.

I worked there briefly. While it is a transcription company, it IS NOT medical. They transcribe insurance claims, legal documents, etc. You have to live in AZ. I believe they have a few "drop off/pick up" places around the state, but the one I worked out of was the main office, in Gilbert, AZ. Every day at 11:00 you are to go in, get your tapes (by the way I had to buy a $400 machine to accomidate their tapes), drop off the tapes you had along with the typed dictation on a memory stick, and pick up two more tapes to do by 11 am the next day.

It was extremely frustrating, because you have to type verbadum, using slang, "ain't and cause", because these are recorded tapes of witnesses of car accidents, etc. You have the 24 hours to transcribe the tapes. Needless to say, after years of MT, this was very difficult to do--at least for me. Hope that helped a little. Some people (without medical training) loved it and others did not. It is a local pickup/drop off, though.

Transcription Express said they are digital now and are wondering where this info about pick up and drop off of tapes came from so they can change the info! Hmmmm. Only need to go onsite for training and first meeting.

I went to their QA session a month ago. She wanted me to pay $550 up front for the license to use their dictation system (non-refundable) and another $30 a month for administration fees. It paid $1.10 a page. Wasn't for me...so I walked out. You are also considered an IC so self-employment taxes are your responsibility.

Stay AWAY froim Chase Transcriptionis!!I jumped through hoops to get hired at this company. Took an oral test over the phone and aced it. Then took test on-line and aced it. This is the second company I have tested for for non-medical transcription work, transcribing meetings, etc. I do fine with presentations, i.e. speaker addressing audience. The multispeaker settings, however, leave me flustered. I sometimes find it difficult discerning the various voices when they sound simiilar or are talking over each other. Even at 50 cents an audio minute, if you get a 10-minute report that would equate to $5.00. Usually it takes 30 minutes to do a 10-minute report so that would mean one would receive $10.00 an hour. If only getting 40 cents, that's $8.00 an hour. PFFT! I don't see how this is any improvement over our standard slave wages, yet their ad sounds like they invented the wheel or sliced bread. With a name like "Fox," it's got to be bad. (Apologies to Smucker's.) ...
