Finally found out how to place a ticket on Remedy - ready2quit

okay, I apologize. Finally found out how to place a ticket on Remedy. I'm just so mad that I could have caught up on some zzzzz's if I had known I'd be sitting here for 1-1/2 hours waiting for work. After trying a million passwords, finally found out that it's our number from our paystubs we use when going on remedy to create a ticket.

I did my first NJA in Remedy last night. Before going into it, I had to go to Internet Explorer and turn off my popup blockes - and then remember to turn it back on.
So I muddle through the process, and there is a choice missing that we used to have. Now we can only choose using PTO, making up the work, or taking the time without pay. Where's the "not available" option?
By the time I went through this ridiculous process, there was a job waiting.
How do I know what option I want, if I don't know how long I'll be out of work - s re minurd, hours, a whole shift?

I'm still fairly new here, and they seem extremely vague on the whole NJA process... I'm worried I'll file a ticket & take the rest of the day as PTO & then a few hours later work will come in & I'll be in trouble... But isn't that technically what we're supposed to do since they can't expect us to sit here unpaid hoping work will come in? It does seem like they should let you fill out your ticket but not choose until the end of the day PTO versus making up the hours since work may actually come in that we want to do though.

they want from you. Once you have used all your PTO up on days with NJA, that is exactly what you will be doing, waiting for work unpaid. And when you want to take time off, vacation, LOL, you will not be allowed to, be allowed, because you have no PTO left. But then if you do anyway, it is all unpaid vacation/PTO.
DO NOT use your PTO for NJA unless that is - sm

what you want to do. You have 3 choices when you have NJA: use PTO, make up the time later or be released from work without pay. It is YOUR CHOICE. See the work availability policy/process on MModal intranet.

I wait my 15 minutes and then I always pick option "make up time" and that way if work comes in later Im covered and not always do I make up the total amount of time, but I just let the time go as I can usally afford that bit missed and I dont have to use PTO for NJA. So if you need to use PTO for financial reasons, I would still select "make up time" and at the end of the week, calculate how many hours short you are and put that in for PTO. That is what I do.
I always try to make it up by checking periodically throughout the day and sometimes end up adding a little extra time to my other days.
Anyway having said that, if I have something to do, I dont check as often, but I figure this is my scheduled time and I would otherwise being working, so I most always just check a lot.

Also, you have until Saturday at midnight (whatever time zone, eastern maybe) to get your hours in. You do not have to do it all today. Friday nights there is usually an abundance of work.
During buyouts, employees get to bring over their PTO usually. - Might be why. NM

I'm in my 3rd week. No one has even mentioned remedy to me. I have been out of work before the end of my shift 1 day in each week. I have e-mailed my CCM to let him know I'm out of work - he hasn't mentioned anything about what to do with NJA. What's a ticket??? How do you get to Remedy?

Beginning April 25th, new support requests will be submitted in Remedy 7.6. The existing IT Service Management systems will remain available for 60 days so that pending tickets can be closed. Historical information will continue to be available for reporting purposes.

the following for instructions regarding Remedy/QCare. Log into MModal intranet. On the home page, click on Departments, Operations, Customer Support Services, Medical Transcriptionist, MT Information, Policy/Process, Med Trans Work Availability Process May 2012. Read the Work Availability Process. It tells you what to do when you have NJA. It is YOUR CHOICE as to what option you want to use: use PTO, Make up time later or release from work without pay. Your CCM cannot force you to take PTO! Your options are clearly spelled out in this policy/process. Hope this helps anyone who has questions.
