Does anyone have DirecTV internet? - know if it works

Does anyone have internet through DirecTV who works for MM? We are lookin at a house where cable is not currently available and we'd have to have DirecTV for TV and internet and I'm not sure if it is considered OK for MT or not. I know "satelllite" interneti isn't but wasn't sure if DSL through DirecTV was considered that or not. Thanks!

Something like this I would contact the company directly and find out since this is such a serious issue. I was always told I needed high-speed internet, they never mentioned satellite but I'd contact your supervisor and your regional manager to verify before making a large commitment to buying a house as you can get differing opinions on this site.

When it was cloudy out it would go down, VERY unreliable..If you have satellite TV same thing usually takes some rain to put that out..But if you have no other choice, then do it I wouldn't even ask the company what they don't know they will never find out..In the past they said no because it wasn't secure, and I don't know why because all internet comes from a satellite somewhere...

I just called DirecTV and sat on hold for 10 minutes and then got a message that the call couldn't be completed and disconnected. Ugh. So frustrating. I have done a few Google searches and it doesn't look like DSL is probably available at all and only Hughes, and a few others which are satellite with a two year commitment. We are only looking to rent this house not buy so I don't want a contract. Thanks everyone for your replies, looks like this probably won't work.

We have DirecTV for our TV and use our phone company (Century Link) for the Internet. See if your phone company offers high-speed Internet. We rarely have a problem with Internet. Once in a blue moon we have a problem with the TV if a very dark cloud is blocking the satellite.

Some companies won't allow satellite types, such as Hughes. It's just completely unreliable.

how about BroadBandQ? - anyone with that?

Does anyone out there have BroadbandQ for their internet? It is advertised as internet for rural areas and is apparently not satellite.

I use Express Scribe and for no apparent reason three days ago the internet began shutting down EVERY time I click on my next job - I have to open everything back up up to four times before it will finally open the job. Since we work remotely for MTSOs that may be hundreds or even thousands of miles away, can they really tell if we have DSL or calble or satellite or broadband, etc? I know there is an internet card that you can buy to get you access to the internet on your computer if you are in an area without direct access. Where would I buy one? Can we use internet through Dish network. I currently have comcast and I absolutely hate this company. We got rid of our cable through Comcast and went with Dish.
