Does anyone know how Nuance gets around the requirement to reimburse for internet expense in California?
They never reimbursed internet expense - anywhere to my knowledge

I live in NY and never any mention of reimbursement.
This company will not spend one cent it absolutely does not have to. My old bought out company did reimburse for internet, but that has not been going for years now.

My old company that was purchased used to reimburse also. It hasn't really been an issue until recently that everything about them is ticking me off.
They are required to reimburse internet in Cali? I'm in Cali - and want reimbursement.

Where did you find that information? I'm ticked off and fed up also and will be happy to jump right on that engine.

Your incorrect about required to reimburse for internet, it's just not true. However, you can write it off on your taxes as an unreimbursed employee expense. Talk to your tax person.
Labor code 2802 section a - Fedup

"An employer shall indemnify his or her employee for all necessary expenditures or losses incurred by the employee in direct consequence of the discharge of his or her duties, or of his or her obedience to the directions of the employer, even though unlawful, unless the employee, at the time of obeying the directions, believed them to be unlawful."

Everything I've found says they are required to reimburse.
Looks like if challenged it certainly would be. - Precedent was set

in the Cochran v. Schwans case last year, where the court came back saying that the employer had to pay a portion of the employee's cell phone bill monthly since the phone was required for the employee to do their job. They used Code 2802 Section a to make that determination, and by the reading it relates to the internet also. That stated, there is no way they would not be required to pay a portion of an employee's internet bill. As an IC they could probably get away without, but on an employee basis they would lose per the standard set in the Cochran case. This has nothing to do with taxes.
Transhealth reimbursed and so did Webmedx for a period of sm - i know this
I hadn't heard of this and could some one explain. Is this ONLY for the state of California and if so why?
Don't get me wrong, glad anybody could get an extra nickel out of Nuisance, but just wondering if other states need to file for it or not. ...
Is this benefit listed somewhere? I looked at AlphaStaff and found nothing and our old Community Page no longer is updated. Would like to get my fat butt up and moving but can't really afford it. This might help. ...
I work as an IC MT for a psych clinic. My director called, asking for coding information. He knows nothing about coding (neither do I) and it took me a while to catch on to what he wanted.
I believe he wants an ICD-9 code for the appropriate compensation of writing and reviewing reports? His office secretaries don't have any idea.
A code for somone like himself writing and reviewing at a master's level, then another code for the psychiatrist obviously at a higher l ...
Regarding the e-mails back on April 17 on when the balance of the UHC money would be transferred over to the Cigna HRA Reimbursement account - I just checked my new Cigna HRA account and the balance of the money from the United Healthcare account has now been transferred over. ...
tell me how that works? I know the insurance premiums are less than a regular health plan. If your company puts 500 in your account, does that mean the first few times, for example, until you use up the 500, you don't pay ANYTHING or is it the opposite...you pay the entire office visit cost until you reach that 500? I would be so grateful for any information about this type of plan. TIA ...
I live in a rural area and have limited options for internet providers. Currently have satellite but not happy with service. Anyone know anything about Verizon wireless cards? What is the speed comparable to? Dial up? DSL? Thanks ...
I have had it with Hughesnet and am going to try Verizon broadband. I was just wondering if others who use it have any trouble staying under the 5 GB monthly limit. I really only use my computer for work, work email and a small amount of personal email, paying bills, and facebook. Very occasionally a you tube video or something like that. I'm not sure what that all would add up to. ...
Any companies that alloow satellite internet? There is no DSL or cable internet available at my new address. The only thing available is satellite. Right now, I'm having to go to my mother's to work so I really am considering trying to find a company that will allow satellite internet. ...
I use Express Scribe and for no apparent reason three days ago the internet began shutting down EVERY time I click on my next job - I have to open everything back up up to four times before it will finally open the job. I work for dictators who often do 30-second dictations so I spend most of my day opening the internet and Express Scribe back up - maddening! My employer can't help and the techs told her it sounded like security/firewall issue but I haven't updated or added that, onl ...
You all do know that because this is a public forum, that ANYONE can say WHATEVER they want and pump up their company, MQ, M*Modal, Nuance, ad. naseum? Right? You do know that, okay. Back in the "day", we kinda knew who was who, and what was what; it is not that way anymore. It is a whole new world. You can open a new company with a couple bucks, post a lot of "WOW" comments on Google reviews and what-not, hey, looking good, good ratings/reviews. Really, you&n ...
Since we work remotely for MTSOs that may be hundreds or even thousands of miles away, can they really tell if we have DSL or calble or satellite or broadband, etc? I think what I am trying to say is how would they know from that far away what type of internet we have. I have had terrible luck in landing a job with great experience, 25 years and heavy experience with ESL. I do not have much in the way of VR, but am willing to learn. The reason I cannot get a job is ...
I am going to need mobile internet access to work. Sprint has a mobile hotspot for $50 a month that gives you 6 GB of data. I have no idea how many GB I use working. Has anyone ever used a hotspot for working and how did it turn out?
Thanks ...
I know there is an internet card that you can buy to get you access to the internet on your computer if you are in an area without direct access. Where would I buy one? I am traveling and will be in a hotel that supposedly has internet but what happens if they don't for some reason. So I will be in range of an internet tower, just not access to wifi or a plug in internet connection. Any help would be great. Just wondering where I get one, and if you might know the cost. I only need it ...
Can we use internet through Dish network. I currently have comcast and I absolutely hate this company. We got rid of our cable through Comcast and went with Dish. We kept the internet but the speed is ridiculously slow. Wondering if I can just go with Dish internet instead. If not, what type of internest connection do some of you use if not Comcast. Thanks for any info! ...
Does anyone have internet through DirecTV who works for MM? We are lookin at a house where cable is not currently available and we'd have to have DirecTV for TV and internet and I'm not sure if it is considered OK for MT or not. I know "satelllite" interneti isn't but wasn't sure if DSL through DirecTV was considered that or not. Thanks! ...
So many websites now are giving the message that the version of IE that we have to use in order to do our work for Nuance is obsolete, not supported. I'm wondering if that could be why my computer is running so slowly lately. (When I Google something now, I literally go back to my report and keep working while the Google page is coming up). It never used to be like this. Has anybody else noticed this? I even called my internet provider and upgraded to turbo speed over the weekend, but I ...
and came up with a listing for it on eBay.
I wonder if you get any discount on your hospital bill if it is bidding on your surgical equipment on eBay, or even if you can bring your own. Forget high surgeon fees, this stuff is radically expensive!!! ...
