So im almost done with my Medical Transcription Editor program, so close to being done, BUT im still messing up reports ALOT and having tons of trouble, seems like when i feel confident with the report & click "submit" the report bascially turns completely red showing mistakes....... How am i suppsoe to have a job doing this if the homework is too hard for me... :( please no rude/mean comments... im only looking for some support/advice. thank you.

The best thing to do is try to proof as you go along and then proof again at the end. It will feel like it is taking a lot of your time, but in the long run it will pay off. You just need to know how to identify different words and phrases and that comes with experience.

Are you upset because you think the homework should be easier? Do you think the work will be easier than the homework? Believe me, it will be much harder than any homework you have seen or will see.

Do you proofread your work before you send it in? I ask because your post contains some egregious errors (alot vs. a lot, suppose to vs. supposed to, things like that). If you are making those kinds of mistakes in your homework, you need to take the time to proofread it before you send it in. If those things do not appear to be errors to you, then you need more help than we can give you.

You will probably think this is mean. It is not. It is simply the truth.

On this board, we don't focus on spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. However,you asked for help in understanding what is difficult in your course.

I don't intend this to be mean, either, but to help you understand something you might need to work on.

As the other person pointed out, if you look at your post and think it is written ok, it might be that you are having trouble in class because your writing ability needs work. Your post is, literally, filled with writing errors.

If that is the problem, you might pay more attention to that, or even spend some time brushing up on good writing skills.

Your school's instructors should have addressed this with you. They should be able to tell what the problem is. What did they say?

Schools shouldn't be teaching medical editing; - its going away along with transcription.

Front-end speech wreck and point and click systems that need no MTs or editors at all (the docs do everything) are making transcription a thing of the past.

Thanks for your rude comment saying im a "hit and run poster"...... I have been at the doctor all morning with my sick toddler who can barely eat because he is so congested, and then i have been holding a screaming child all day.... Little did you know. You should not make rude assumptions about people. Think before you act & grow up.....

Same place you are. Don't rush on your passes. Don't forget about acceptable variations which, invariably, show up in every report. Be careful about punctuation. HTH

My laptop crashed today and is now in the shop. I am trying to use our home desktop but can't get the files to completely download. I called customer service, but since I am using our home computer, they won't help, only told me to make sure that any firewalls are turned off before installing DS. All of the sudden, it is hung on the download screen. The box popped up saying "downloading job #xxxxxxxx. Getting job details." And then the log out button is below that. Explorer 8 on Medquist computer? They sent me a new computer because the fan went out in the old one and the new one had Explorer 8 on it. Now anything internet-based such as DocQmanage (client profiles, etc.) the text has letters that are different colors, making it very hard to read, and tech support cannot figure out how to fix it. I recently accepted a position with a company because this company had supposedly obtained a huge account. After completing the paperwork, sending it back, training on the account and working for about 3 days, I was told that the account was lost. I always thought it was optional to spell out 1st, 2nd, or 3rd per AAMT BOS so now I will go look for it.
