I'm interviewing for a new job next week, and have to travel 2 hours to the office for the interview and test. I hate to get there and then be offered chump change...

she told me they pay per page. All pages are relatively brief, 25 lines max. Can anyone tell me what to expect them to say? i.e. what is the going rate when being paid by the page?

That's a lot of lines. These days, I doubt they will pay much. I'm doing radiology for not much more than $1.00 a report, but my reports are about 2 or 3 lines longs.

Thanks. It's actually legal transcription. After 14 years in this thankless career, I'm looking to leave medical and work for a legal service in DC, IF the price is right... i just dont know.

I do legal/general transcription also and I get $3.00 a page. I'm sure it depends on where in the country you live as to what the going rate is. I'm in Upstate NY. Good luck.

I have to get 2.20 to make what i was before the huge paycut, so now I am hopeful.

She said the MT's range from 15 to 20 pages an hour.. that would be a lot.

I get 4.50 pp even and most of my reports (sm) - Meee

However, I have a Dr. that is interested in using my service, but they send all the info by internet and I would just have to type everything up. I have a question about Smartype and I will try to make it so it is understandable:) I bought Instant Text because I had to have some way of moving my Smartype over into Word 2007 (I had Word 2002). I have Instant Text turned off until I learn the new platform on the new company I am with. My problem is this, the Smartype line will not move with the page so when I get to the bottom of the page it covers up everything at the bottom and I can only manually move Smartype by scrolling back up ...

I am working in Word 2007. I am trying to make a template that has a different first page top margin. Can anyone give me some help? I have searched on MT Stars but can't seem to find anything. how does this sound for legal transcription work? this is my first time being offered (and quoted) this type of work and pay. any ideas? i did test for them and the verbatim legal test file was quite easy and well over 1-1/2 pages in a short amount of time. <<<15 pages = $18.00 a page. Just got an offer with a company for 1.00 a page for medical transcription. I had thought when I applied it was some kind of insurance transcription but it turns out they are medical.
