Would it be so difficult to tether criticism with a little praise?

Seriously, why is it necessary to criticize MTs for transcribing "blood pressure," instead of BP, and NEVER offer once word of praise for the many times I've omitted the second dictation of vital signs to keep the dictator from looking stupid?

Or how about a "good job" here and there for the times I fixed things like, "The patient will be given a prescription for metformin for his diarrhea," when I transcribed, "The patient will be given a prescription for metformin for his diabetes?"

No, how about you just keep fussing about "verbatim," and then expect me to keep on fixing erroneous dictation and never have a good word to say about the job I do? And by the way, keep sending me those humiliating paychecks, those really boost my self esteem.

I have ALWAYS gone the extra mile, in getting things correct - even when it's just a "sense," a "feeling" - no...I don't think that's right...and I go look it up...when I could have let it slide! You know, there are times when a sentence will make sense - but there's just something not right about the diagnosis, it doesn't quite sound like what they're saying...so you go back and listen...and it's just a subtle difference, but you pick it up. 'CAUSE IT'S MY JOB.

You never get a word of thanks (or increase in pay) for the care you take. No, just pay cut after pay cut. That's why I'm out! I'm broke, but I'm out.

Wow,it is amazing how we all feel the same way about being an MT anymore. I worked for Sperhis and couldn't take it any longer, so (stupid) I went with Medquist and OMG, I felt lower than dirt. I quit there and have been bouncing around for over two years (or should I put 2?). Anyway, now I do clinic notes and love it. I want to work at home. Now if I could do something else besides transcription and work at home, I would, but I want part time and flexible hours, so I just kept looking and trying and looking and trying and finally settled into some good accounts with decent people to work for. It has been hard, but that is choice I made, but I would never, ever, go back to what I had before and to throw salt on the wound, they kept cutting our pay! They should all burn!

When they all burn someday, I'll be sure to - bring the MARSHMALLOWS!!!

It is insulting to all of us with the way that MT pay has gone down the drain, it is frustrating and aggravating to look for a "decent" job these days, trying to work out which companies will treat you fairly, which ones lie about their platforms, work, etc., and not only do these companies not want to pay us what we are worth but now I see that MANY companies are requiring the MT to have or "be willing" to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of equipment. Most postings are about how horrible the industry is and how impossible it is to get a job. I haven't been getting a second resevered job for quite some time and was wondering if I was the only one. I have told my manager and she said she would fix it about 2 months ago. It really stinks because after I complete a job it throws NJA at me. If I let if search for jobs long enough it will find me one. It seems they are either extremely low CPL or full of ESLs that means you also cant make any money. It just occurred to me, if a person did want to apply for a QA/QC job with the crappy way they score you it would be impossible to get a high enough score to be able to compete for the jobs. ...
