am concerned if I quit this job I will get another with the exact same situation. I have no clue what to do with myself sitting waiting and it makes me nervous.

There is an unwritten rule in this house that even the mice follow....No one looks at me, talks to me or breathes my air until I have my coffee. After that, everything's up for discussion. :) I understand the friendly fun....now someone needs to explain what that is to those on the politics board. Have not seen such brutality since I was down at the dump shooting rats.

Hi! :) I never go to the politics board. The lack of civility is just too much for me. Why waste time like that? I do love to talk politics and, interestingly, my best friend and I are at opposite poles of the political spectrum. We talk politics all the time but we have an agreement: While we can attack ideas, we can never attack each other. Too bad the politics board isn't like that.

I'm hearin' ya sistah! I read it occasionally just to gander at the way some think they are so tolerant, all the while attacking someone until they draw blood because that person is not in their arena. The lack of civility has reached proportions that makes Iran nuclear power look like a trip to Disney World...LOL. I like you and your friend's idea. If people would only limit themselves to the ideas alone, a lot more would be accomplished.

On a lighter note, how's your work been? Pretty steady. When I do get a chance to check things out, I am seeing things all over the place as far as volume. Trying to get a handle on some of these other companies. Have a good week if we do not get to talk. :)

Try Inscdribe - they have work up the wazoo and are a great company - not your standard mtso.

If acute care - they just signed an account with over a million lines per year. and that is just one of their new babies.

I have two part-time jobs, one in the evening and one daytime. When one runs out, I check the other. Sometimes they are both out. My daytime job has lots of flexibility and allows me to work whenever. The evening job has fixed hours, but I can augment them during the day if I want.

I am an oncology MT with TransTech and have been sitting and waiting for work to come in for weeks. In the last 2 weeks, I have had about 16 hours worth of work. I'm worrying about how I am going to pay my bills. Then I come to this site and see that TransTech is once again advertising for Oncology MTs. This makes me SO ANGRY!!! Why would a company do this? Why advertise jobs when their current employees have no work at all?? ...

I am so burned out and so tired of trying to get jobs here. So many of these recruiters do not call when they say they will and a few just never called. With MM's restrictions on pretty much everything, how often does everybody get up to take a break? Previously I could get up and stretch, walk away for a few minutes before downloading the next job, but now I get reprimanded for inactive time. How long do you work before standing up? Do you stand and work at the same time sometimes. I have severe RLS and to top that off my chair is like sitting on a brick. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks! ...

I logged in at 10 a.m. EST and worked my entire shift. I got NJA a few times, so didn't do as many jobs as normal (straight typing only). Anyway, the work kept coming, so I kept typing. The DEP screen said they were working on moving the "stuck" jobs out, so I figured I would just plug along. I wrote down every job number I typed along the way. It's a sad realization that while I was a fairly decent medical transcriptionist, I am not good at editing. I made 3 critical errors in one day. I don't really have an excuse. I caught a bazillion errors as I had some pretty bad dictations yesterday but missed a lab error 50.3 instead of 50.8, a diagnosis VR typed hemangioma and it was supposed to be meningioma. Hi, I am an old MT but new to working at home. Didn't know beans about any company, but have gotten hired by a company that (as I found out on these forums) apparently overhires. As I understand it, this means that my "8-hour shift" may stretch to fill the entire day, as I wait for dictation to become available, because we have to do a certain number of lines, if there's work or not. so - today I got my QA - 97.97%. deal is it's now the 3rd one below 98%.. with the tagline that came out a few months ago that if you get a 3rd QA below 98% you'll be fired.
