I have been sitting here for 4 hours waiting for - DQS

to connect. I can't believe we have to sit here and check back every 15 minutes to see if DQS is back up. What are the rest of the night crew doing? Are you checking every 15 minutes? It is freezing here too and I would rather be in my pj's under the covers with my cat.

Sorry to vent but I am starting to feel like a ping pong ball going back and forth into DQS.

I checked every 30 minutes earlier in my shift, now - I check only hourly.

Too many other things I can be doing to be tied to the computer. I cleared my driveway of snow, went grocery shopping, took a nap, watched some TV. If my house needed cleaning, I would have done that too. But it is up for sale, and I just had people here to see it so it was already spotless.

I will check back hourly now too. I am to the - point now where

I am an independent contractor. I don't get downtime. I had other accounts on a different platform but I always do OT on the weekends so I was waiting for it to come back. Finally did and I caught up all the jobs on my account. Off to bed now :)

My shift was to start at 6 PM and still waiting. Cooked some food, watched some TV, did the dishes. Got an e-mail from supervisor about 9:30 PM and she said they were going to hopefully install the next fix at midnight as the first one didn't work. Checking here on MT Stars and also for another e-mail from my supervisor. My shift is over at 2:30 AM so "just my luck" the system will be back up at 2 AM. I think this is more tiring waiting for this than to work an 8-hour shift. Let's hope it will be up and running soon!

generally the work gets really backed up on Friday night and I take the opportunity to do some overtime, so I'm usually here till the wee hours of the morning. I sleep a couple of hours and then am back for my 4 hour Saturday shift around 7 a.m. It works for me to work when there is work so I'm used to not going to bed much at all on Friday night anyway, so I'm going to take hour long naps and check in and be ready to work whenever the system comes up.

We work the same shift, 6-2:30 am. I hope if - the system goes

back up at 2:00 am, that we won't be expected to work after our shift. Besides, we have to start working earlier tomorrow because I think there is scheduled maintenance this weekend. It is tiring and I have a feeling we are going to get a lot more tired.

I'll definitely call it a night when the shift is up at 2:30 am. No, we are not expected to work past our scheduled shift. I would imagine that OT will be offered when it is back up, so I'll just get some rest and work some OT this weekend. Not sure if the scheduled maintenance will still happen now Saturday since there was this problem today. I have been with the company since 2004 first part-time and now full-time and this is the absolute longest downtime I have seen. Even if the system comes back up at 2 AM, I'll work the 30 minutes and then clock back out for the night. I always take a nap before I start at 6 PM, so too tired waiting to work past 2:30 now.

You don't need to do that. Just check DEP now. Also, - dnr

File a Remedy ticket and they will send you the master ticket number so you will get paid for the downtime.

I believe it is against the law to ask you to check every so many minutes and not get compensation for it. I will check into it.

Your are getting compensated, which is why you need - to be available to check. NM

I am an oncology MT with TransTech and have been sitting and waiting for work to come in for weeks. In the last 2 weeks, I have had about 16 hours worth of work. I'm worrying about how I am going to pay my bills. Then I come to this site and see that TransTech is once again advertising for Oncology MTs. This makes me SO ANGRY!!! Why would a company do this? With MM's restrictions on pretty much everything, how often does everybody get up to take a break? Previously I could get up and stretch, walk away for a few minutes before downloading the next job, but now I get reprimanded for inactive time. How long do you work before standing up? I logged in at 10 a.m. EST and worked my entire shift. I got NJA a few times, so didn't do as many jobs as normal (straight typing only). Anyway, the work kept coming, so I kept typing. The DEP screen said they were working on moving the "stuck" jobs out, so I figured I would just plug along. I wrote down every job number I typed along the way. It's a sad realization that while I was a fairly decent medical transcriptionist, I am not good at editing. I made 3 critical errors in one day. I don't really have an excuse. I caught a bazillion errors as I had some pretty bad dictations yesterday but missed a lab error 50.3 instead of 50.8, a diagnosis VR typed hemangioma and it was supposed to be meningioma. Emails about new quality standards and as I will be transitioning into fluency I will be making below minimum wage which is not going to cut it for my bills. How is this legal??? Hi, I am an old MT but new to working at home. Didn't know beans about any company, but have gotten hired by a company that (as I found out on these forums) apparently overhires.
