Could not stop patient's bleeding. Patient on Coumadin. Dr. dictates "Patient given Vitamin K and s/l FSP or SSP to reverse INR. Dr. mumbles this line. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. ...
submission? I'm with a company that does this (amongst other bordering on unethical things)....I'm sure we all know what company.......cough MQ cough........
Anyway, is it just this horrible company that docks pay for QA over 5% and also if you fail an audit? I really wouldn't have a problem with docking of pay for failed audits IF they were fair, but this company doesn't know the meaning of the word fair.
Just wondering if there are other ...
Admittedly, there are some nasty trolls on other boards here on this site, too, but the M*Modal and Politics boards seem to have a really, really high ratio of viciousness.
No surprise on the Politics board, but it is interesting that the M*Modal board comes in for so much more meanness, post for post, than the others.
Since the nastiest folks always seem to be those defending M*Modal and belittling other MTs, it does make me wonder if some of M*Modal's low-level managers like to ve ...
Back in September went to a vascular surgeon who saw me for a few minutes, said had no clue why my legs tired, hurting at night and proceeded to charge my insurance $325.00. I thought excessive being as nothing done. Others here said I had to pay for his office, his staff, and on and on. I called my insurance company, reported as excessive. I cancelled followup with him.
Yesterday self referred to another physician, location approximately same as first. This particular physician said what he ...
Can someone explain to me why, if I get paid by the line, I spend so much time looking up doctor names, facility names, the local burger joint, etc, but I don't get paid for that? ?? I am going to throw in the towel with transcription and look for a job that pays by the hour. This line stuff is a joke. Can't get up speed or stay with a rhythm for stopping to try to find names of people, places and things. ...
Anyone notice their W2 now actually says Nuance Transcription Services and no longer Transcend DBA Nuance...
Last year there were lots of comments about our W2's (all of us, not just those who came in from Transcend) saying Transcend. I even wrote HR to see what was up with that.
They never told us about the change to Transcend and certainly didn't mention the change back to Nuance. Oh well.
Just an observation. ...
For those "low-talkers" who won't spell the PA/PACs name, combined with my endless list of names, does anyone know the easiest way to just do a generic search for all of them?
It's exhausting!
Thanks, y'all! ...
Does anyone else ever have a problem with a doctor/nurse, etc. who sends out letters or just on regular reports who gives no complete names or addresses? We have a place to go look them up but it does sometimes take a chunk out of my time doing it. One or two minutes means a lot sometimes. I have one doctor who dictates letters to "Dr. Smith, Dr. Jones," etc. and there are only about 10 of each of those listed and sometimes you cannot tell what the specialty is to look it up.&n ...
When typing a name like Topicort - if it is cream or ointment, are those capitalized? Also Selsun shampoo - is the word shampoo capitalized? Thanks ...
So, this being the most friendly and up-to-date board around regarding MT practices, can I get some opinions about the HIPAA 'privacy rule' and your doctors using patient names in their notes, clinic or otherwise. I am not sure how an HIM department can say to a physician how using a patient name in a transcribed report is not going against the Privacy rule in HIPAA. This kind of stuff just irks me!!!Any comments?? Thanks in advance.... ...
99% of the wasted "down time" I have in my work day is trying to decipher doctor names, patient names, referral names, dictator names, resident/assistant names and I'm literally sick to death of it. From now on if I don't hear the name the VERY FIRST TIME it's said it's going to be LEFT BLANK. No more listening to it over and over and over and over trying to catch the first syllable or the last, or even a piece of the name - I sometimes spend 5 whole minutes PER R ...
I am pretty sure I read this in BOS but can't seem to find it now. Do you capitalize something like tetanus when it refers to the vaccine and not the actual condition? As in Tetanus Vaccine or Tetanus vaccine to prevent tetanus. ...
It must be too early. I've talked myself in and out of this but need a little help here. In names such as Martinez, when the sentence is, "she was sent from Dr. Martinez's office" is it Martinez's or Martinez'. Told you it was early. Would appreciate the help please. Thank you. ...
my mtso switched to a new system and all the doc names I had in my data base are gone. what a pain to start over. any simple way to do this. all the doc names come up as spelling errors and i am adding them slowly and painfully ty ...
I have an opportunity to subcontract for a person who has accounts. She does not really have a "business" per se, e.g., no company name. She said she has hired nationally before and I was hoping to come here and ask if she paid on time, etc. But - I can't seem to find a way around it without naming names. ...
When do you capitalize departments? I have been in the biz for 10 years, and my current QA staff is giving me conflicting feedback on my capitalization. One QA manager is giving me errors for not capitalizing, the other is giving me errors when I do! I was always taught that you didn't capitalize the department unless it was preceded by the proper name of the hospital (XYZ Hospital Emergency Department, etc).
Also, as far as specialties, how do you handle those? For ...
Why on earth have a deadline but then extend it until everyone downloads? Its already been 8 days past original deadline... how much time is needed? ...
Am I overly concerned or do you think I may have a point?
I think the Word Help Board is invaluable and have always helped whenever I 100% knew the correct spelling. But as I have been reading the questions, there seem to be more and more drug questions from drug lists, which means no point of reference. There are also a few “allergic to: sounds like” questions.
When I first started working as a Medical Transcriptionist, QA was always: “Leave a b ...
how do you transcribe specialty names? Gastroenterology vs gastroenterology, etc. Do you always capitalize? sometimes capitalize? if so, when? thanks! ...
My resume obviously has a list of companies I've worked for plus different work types, etc. Is it acceptable to list medical facilities (accounts) we've worked on even though not directly employed with them? TIA ...
I am needing a good site to search for docs for particular states. I've been using NPI, but the doc I am trying to find is not coming up. He/she has an unusual name and it is being dictated by another doc who is struggling to pronounce it. The doc I am needing to do a search on right now is in Missouri. I don't know the clinic. I only know that the patient is to follow with him/her for diabetes. ...
How annoying is that? There are a few doctors on my account that don't bother inputting the patient name into the demographics, don't spell it, don't give a date of service...they just say a name and start dictating. They do this for every report, and it's been that way since I started working here!
I have a rule where I only try 2 spellings of the name to find the patient. Otherwise it gets pended. What do you guys do?
