Anyone know how to make different headers on - different pages in Word 2003?

I have a bunch of follow-up notes and the doc wants each note on a different page all in one document. The problem is some of these individiual notes end up being two pages. Anyone know how to make second page headers for each patient like this? I would like to keep the actual document header and not just space down under the header and put one in, if that makes sense. Oh, and it's Word 2003. Thank you!

I had an account like this, and I could not figure out how to accomplish this with the header functionality in Word. What I ended up doing was creating a macro that would copy the info I needed at the beginning of the document and format it how I needed it on the second page. It worked for me as the info could be copied from the beginning of the document, then I formatted it adding "page 2." Good luck!

Well it's a PIA, but it can be done. Go to Page Layout then the little tab "breaks" click on the little arrow to the right select under "Section Breaks" next page.

Then in your document double click to select your header.

Click off the "link to previous" Now you can edit each page header.

The PIA part is it will not work with the shortcut keys (ctrl+shift+enter). You actually have to manually go through the steps for each page.

If you have to do this all the time, you might try setting up the document as a template with the settings saved, and then it would be just a matter of editing the header each time instead, which works really well. What I have is a template with about 20 pages already set up with each header saying "patient 1," "patient 2," etc. Then all I do is double click each header to insert the right name or other info and I can skip all the manual entering for each page.

The key is the "next page" type of section break though and clicking the "link to previous" off.

I tried to verify my line counts by doing a copy and paste into word from their system. The only way I can come close is if I exclude all those "automatic" headers that are included in the templates. Does anyone else experience that? This really knocks a lot of characters out of my reports. ...

Kind of stumped on this one. I just recently started working for a company that does both VR and straight typing. Luckily, have been doing more straight typing than VR, but noticed that after I did 20 or so reports my line counts were around 600-750 lines for those 20 reports. They have a separate letter form, consult form and chart note. Then there is a summation sheet at the beginning and STAT sheet at the end. I seem to be spending an awful lot of time in VR documents, so I am confused as to why I am getting paid less for them. This stupid VR system types whatever it thinks it might be hearing and sometimes doesn't type anything at all. I hate this VR. I've been working with this company for over 90 days. The first 90 days was a paid internship. Paid hourly, minimum wage. I am now a full time employee...paid on production. Didn't MQ make the CTL's become MME's? If that happens to the MT's and you reject it, I assume you will be fired and if so, can you still collect unemployment? What if you they point blank and say, you have to become an MME or you will have look elsewhere. Can you somehow collect unemployment whether you quit or get fired or will you lose out unemployment benefits. Basically, it is a no win situation for us MT's? ...
