pros/cons to DIT transcription? - hc

Hey does anyone know of any pros/cons to DIT transcription? Got an e-mail that they want to take their test but not sure about it. I have been burned a few times from other places and don't want to fall into another trap....and not get my money. Thanks!

I worked for DIT until my first paycheck was due and they didn't pay. It took 6 months of sending emails, filing complaints with various agencies, including the police, and threatening to contact the IRS before they paid me in full, and several of their checks bounced. The Labor Board couldn't help us to get paid, and filing in small claims court was useless because when the sheriff attempted to collect on the judgment, there were no assets to be found. There were 5 of us in the same situation.

I tried to leave out my opinion and just state the facts. I hope it helps.

Thanks for the info everyone...I had already searched the company on here and was pretty sure of my decision but wanted to here some recent stuff in regards to this company.

I think I will continue my search.

Do not take a job with DIT. They do not pay and they make a lot of promises and then do not follow through. I worked for them for 3 1/2 years. They still owe me $4,600.00. Their phone has even been disconnected. They probably did not pay the bill or they got tired of people calling wanting to know when they were going to get paid. At this point I might even lose my house, but DIT does not even care. They will promise you the stars, the moon, but will give you nothing. It is horrible the things that they have gotten away with.

Not making you wrong, but why did you let them run up such a high tab? The first time I am not paid, I am OUT of there. Good luck to you. I hope somebody roasts these people.

What really gets my goat is that they claim to be a Christian run company. This really made me mad. As far as roasting them, I think we all know what happens to people like that, they will roast in HELL.

RUN do not walk away from this company. I worked for them for 3 months and did not get paid. I should have listened to all the warning on this board! Please do not work for them.....

Please do not fall for this scam. I unfortunately worked for them for several months and was only paid 3 times. Now..they have changed there number and blocked my access to the site. NC employment board is no help because they sign you on as an independant contractor and I can not find a lawyer that will take my lawsuite against them. Please do fall for it!!

being a prn employee? I have an upcoming interview at a hospital for an MT job. The job is not through a staffing/employment agency. Who ever gets the job will be an actual hospital employee but will not get any benefits (one disadvantage). I have read so many pros and cons. Running out of work (that's a problem I have right now). Do you think, with the current state of affairs with the MT industry, that it would be worth trying to start a transcription company? I'm torn. I'm planning on getting out of the at-home MT industry and will be seeking employment doing other jobs but in an office.
