just got a call from Precyse - how are they to work for? - I applied months and months ago

I applied months and months ago and basically forgot about them until they called today -- how are they to work for these days?

I have worked for them for a few months. They are very organized, training is good, provide computers, which is great. The only negative thing is lack of work, like everywhere else. Though this is the first company I have ever worked for that does NOT allow you to make up time when you are short on hours all the time. They watch the numbers very close to make sure the people on shift have enough work, if it's just enough for them, no make up time. I am one paycheck away from not being able to pay my rent and looking to get out of this business forever.
I worked for them a long - time ago and

didn't like it. When I was there they used DocQscribe, which if they still do they could be in the crosshairs for an Mmodal takeover.

Does anyone know if Clear Choice pays for spaces based on a 65-character line?

I don't know if they pay for spaces or not, but I can tell you to beware. It's the most abrasive, unpleasant, unprofessional atmosphere I have ever experienced in this industry.
7 cpl is bad enough with spaces ... they lost me with that. nm - just say no

If you are one of her pets, you might as well forget it. I agree with the above statement.

The fact is, the ICs are constantly mistreated, talked down to and just plain verbally abused. It's sad, but true. Not for doing anything "wrong" but for simply asking questions. It's by far the absolute most horrid situation I've ever found myself in. It was not just myself, but also others I know who worked there as well. I can find no better words to describe it other than verbal and mental abuse and sadly enough, the president of the company fully condones it. I have no idea how they are still functioning and how they retain anyone.

I have said this once before on MTStars and will say it a million times to warn people. DO NOT WORK FOR PRECYSE. I worked for them for a year and they were the worst place I have ever worked. They did nothing but tear down your self esteem. They threatened every other week about "keeping an eye" on you and "we'll make a decision after a couple more reports in the next few days" Meaning they might fire you any second. It was wayyyyy too much stress, so I had to quit after a year, had enough.

I posted above about Precyse. I have never had any threatening e-mails or really anything negative, other than the fact that the work is lately always to low and I can't make enough to survive. Which of course is very negative, but it certainly isn't enough to say don't work for them. If you can work as a second job, this is a great place to work. They are very fair and professional, wish they had more work.
plenty of work - me too

Plenty of work on my accounts. I have worked for Precyse for nearly a year and have never run out of work for more than an hour or so and always been able to make it up. I don't think stressful at all; I feel valued and supported.

Well it must be the fact that the hospital I worked for outsourced to Precyse and they wanted us gone because the whole group of us (25 ladies) that joined on got treated like this, with the threatening, keeping you nerved up.

December, could it be that your expectations were too high coming from a hospital (were you an employee there?) to the production MT environment?
Sometimes people struggling coming from an hourly environment to a production environment and they tend to not really meet the expectations of the staff.
Sorry your experience was a poor one.

I could understand your thinking, but it is not at all possible all 30 girls that moved from the hospital to them could have not met expectations. AND I haven't found a company yet that does weekly audits, again on the 30 girls only??

Part of the problem and their perception of you may be that you are referring to yourself as "girls."
I think you are probably in management or an AS - blah blah
[ In Reply To ..]
While I agree with you that their reference to themselves as "girls" could be a factor and coming from a hospital setting to production is an adjustment, the company does indeed audit almost weekly. I get audited reports 2.5 weeks out of the month, 4-5 days of the week for each of those weeks, and I am not one of the "girls."

I had the same unpleasant experience above and lasted 6 months there. I have over 20 years of experience and they reduced me to tears on a daily basis. I got angry when they found "critical" errors which I KNOW did not exist but there is no way to go back and see your old jobs/audio. I had had enough and very happy not working for them. My manager was horrible...email after email after email about how I sucked.
How is Precyse - pavlova

There are several divions....North, South, West, etc. Some of the managers are better than others and determine your experience. I can say this because I have friends that work in other divisions than myself. I have been there about a year or so, and my experience has not been bad. They do micromanage a bit and send you weekly report cards and audit your reports a good amount, and they are pretty persistent about you maintaining 37.5 system hours, but other than that not bad. I give them a 7 out of 10 stars overall. I think most MT companies have become less than great. I was with Diskriter prior and they sold out to India. Outsourcing is where it is all going, and then we have EMR squashing us out of jobs also.
I got a call from Precyse. Can you tell me if they offer bonuses and if they offer 4 cpl for voice, what kind of rates do they offer? do you get much straight transcription? Thank you. ...
Can anyone tell me if Precyse still has Precyse University for training. I went to work for them a few years ago and quit because I was only doing 1-2 hours a day for a couple weeks going through the University and waiting for things to be approved in order to move on and was not making any money, got fed up and quit. I would like to reapply but do not want to if they still do Precyse University training. ...
I am tired and frustrated from applying and sending out resumes only to be ignored. It is like a game with them, I think. MedGarde even has an interview which has absolutely nothing to do with your skills or qualifications. In fact it seems like psychological testing to see if you are mentally competent or something like that. I swear I feel like a mouse that is being tested and run through a maze to see how well you perform, but even mice will get the prize or food event ...
I am considering requesting this pay which (depending on the state) considers us to be on-call and must be paid for part of our shift if no work.
I have had it up to here with Nuance and running out of work, adding more and more accounts and STILL no work. Got a second job and STILL being screwed by Nuance in the sense that I cannot rely on my first job (income wise), because when there is enough work they manage to screw my cpl with their lovely FIESA, then as soon as I have no errors the work ...
Have any of you or someone you know worked for Precyse? Any information appreciated, good or bad. If you or someone you know has worked for them, how do they compare to MModal? Is it possible to make enough money with them to live? Am quickly fading here, I need to find other employment. Am at the end of my rope in every possible way. ...
I tried to apply for an MT job with Precyse last night, but was given a message that they aren't "hiring in my area." Has anybody else run into this? I figure any area in the US is good since most of us work from home, am I wrong? I do live in Alaska, but last time I checked we were still part of the country. Just curious. Thanks. ...
For MT Week last week we got Sonic Rocks which are testicle-shaped shiny black magnets. HR just sent around a warning that they're very strong magnets and to not keep them anywhere near the computer or anything that stores info magnetically because people are accidentally erasing their hard drives with these stupid things. Wonder how many new computers that's gonna cost... ...
I work at Precyse and it seems things have been strange lately and I was wondering if any of my fellow slaves know what's happening there. For example, all of a sudden lots of work for many weeks now (previously was having NJA all the time), so much work that we're way out of TAT with a lot of accounts, yet I see no place where Precyse is advertising jobs for MTs, including their own web site. Also, the sudden firing of a number of QA people and a few lower to middle management p ...
Does anyone know the cpl rate for Precyse? Do you work on all straight transcription or both straight and VR? What platform do they use? I was thinking of taking the test but don't want to waste my time if the rate is too low. Is the test difficult? Would appreciate any info you may have regarding this company. Thank you. ...
Hi everyone I would like to know if anyone works for or has worked for Precyse and if so, if they are a good company to work for. I have tried to look through old posts and I cant find any. thanks for any input you may be able to give me. ...
Looking for some MTs who work for Precyse. I have not seen any threads about this company. Would like to know the good, bad and ugly. Possible hospital transcription being outsourced to them.... Thank you. ...
I was just wondering what is happening at Precyse. I left Precyse last month after they sent my fourth account over to India, and there was no work. Management kept telling us to be patient and just use PTO, but we had not really had any work for months and had already used up most of the PTO. They blamed the no work situation on the bad weather during the winter.
I am at a new company now, and they seem to appreciate me, which Precyse did not. My team leader ...
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After all the stunts these guyz have pulled over the past who-knows-how-many-months...I just saw a job posting for them on a site I'm not sure if I can name here :/ and I don't wanna get in trouble for breaking any rules. Seriously...advertising for more help after you fired SEVERAL QAs and with how much work their sending over to India...you're gonna hire MORE MTs?!?!?!?!?!?! Guess maybe they're looking for some "fresh blood" to dupe ...
I would appreciate any information on this company: How much they pay, if pay is on time, are there tons of acount specs, do they leave you alone to do your work or hover over you, platform(s) ease of use, etc. (I know it is mostly VR.)
Thanks! ...
Anyone with anything GOOD to say about Precyse? Please, everyone can't be unhappy there, can they? Will be be gobbled up by M Modal or Nuance? How big are they? ...
Does Precyse have a quota, must you produce a certain number of lines per day? I'm looking for part-time work. If there is a certain expectation, what happens if you fall below it? I'm thinking I would like to try Precyse but those are my main concerns. ...
Any Precyse MTs having trouble meeting the 96% production time expectation? How are you managing to do it? Work off the clock? Thanks. HR is supporting this push. It was 35 hours on a 40 hour week, then 37.5 now 38.5. thanks... ...
