Trying to decide between these two offers. Any advice or opinions?

I have never worked for Nuance, but I left Precyse after many years because they were always demanding more, paying less, changing the rules, and nothing ever changed in that regard. Seemed like every time I would start to make money, they would jerk me around and create some obstacle so I could not. Then they would crack the whip harder. They outsource the good work to India and you will be left editing all the garbage ... and nothing you do will ever be enough. It used to be that if the voice rec file was garbage, they would take the dictator off of voice rec. But then they started to leave everybody on voice rec anyway. So there you are, editing every word of a document and getting paid very little to do it. Hope that helps.

Granted every company has it's problems but Precyse is a sinking ship, employees leaving like crazy or being laid off like crazy, people in positions that should not be just because they have family higher up in the company and that's just a little about the company, not to mention pending law suits against them and because of those they micromanage like crazy!

I have friends who work for Nuance (which bought out WebMedX, and they hate it! Pay sucks. I interviewed with Precyse today and am thinking of going on board.

Well, if you like incentive pay, you need to know - the standard for qualifying with Nuance

I am not meeting it so far. I came over with Webmedx and always earned upper-tier incentive pay there, having no trouble maintaining both 98.5-100% quality and good speed, but I've seen my first QA review and the writing's on the wall.

I'm going to have to choose between grooming each report for 100%--and plan to routinely fight to reverse enough points docked to qualify--or give up incentive pay and try to replace it with higher line counts. Investing time arguing each point seems a losing proposition for a number of reasons, though, including that a portion of the dictation is always, technically speaking, unintelligible. Maybe you'd do better, though. I assume somebody is earning more than just the bottom level or two.

Other than that, it's been pleasant so far. I like our new ASR, eScription, a LOT, and our incomes have gone up with it. If they don't lower our rates as a result, I'll be glad to recommend the company, but that, of course, is to be seen. Also on the plus side, you can work less than 40 hours and still qualify for health insurance, and how many companies offer that still?

I don't know about Precyse, but I work at Nuance and I really haven't had any problems. I have worked there since November and I love it. If you have any specific questions post a reply and I just posted in another link under 'nunaceemp as well so you can look at it. It is on the company board as well. :)

Can anyone tell me if Precyse still has Precyse University for training. I went to work for them a few years ago and quit because I was only doing 1-2 hours a day for a couple weeks going through the University and waiting for things to be approved in order to move on and was not making any money, got fed up and quit. I tried to apply for an MT job with Precyse last night, but was given a message that they aren't "hiring in my area." Has anybody else run into this? For MT Week last week we got Sonic Rocks which are testicle-shaped shiny black magnets. HR just sent around a warning that they're very strong magnets and to not keep them anywhere near the computer or anything that stores info magnetically because people are accidentally erasing their hard drives with these stupid things. Wonder how many new computers that's gonna cost... ...

I work at Precyse and it seems things have been strange lately and I was wondering if any of my fellow slaves know what's happening there. I was just wondering what is happening at Precyse. I left Precyse last month after they sent my fourth account over to India, and there was no work. Management kept telling us to be patient and just use PTO, but we had not really had any work for months and had already used up most of the PTO.
