ANYONE WORK FOR PRECYSE - Miss T

Has anyone every worked for Precyse Solutions. If so, can you guys give me some background. It is a good company, work load good, etc.

I worked there a few months back and their pay was average, around what other companies are offering, but certainly nothing to write home about. Their transcription system is a DocQScribe clone with M-Modal as their speech engine. At least 90% to 95% of their work was ASR (mine was 100% ASR). They have many of the same policies and procedures as MedQuist (NJA, ticket numbers, etc). They offshore quite a lot of their work to India. On weekends and holidays, all of their American team leads and management were off, so all of your contact at those times was generally with their India personnel. I don't know what their work load is like now, but when I was there, there were only a few times that I ran out of work. I worked at nights though, so that may have had something to do with it. From the emails that I saw, the day shift people were running out of work and being asked to "flex" their time pretty often. Hope this helps.

It was extremely (and I do mean extremely!) hard for me to get any kind of decent line count at Precyse and I literally starting going broke while I was there. I'm sorry to hear it hasn't changed for you.

They required you to use one of their (cr@ppy cheap computers)more clutter in my small office. Then they stuck me on an account which consisted of 1 very very very bad dictator (an old Iranian or something) who did all of the account's discharge summaries. I shipped their mess back in a week.

I was hired on for a new account that was straight typing. But within in a month after starting to work for them, the entire account was sent over to their India MTs. Then they put me on accounts that were all ASR after that.

Some folks are getting letters - from Dept of Labor

I haven't gotten any letters from the DOL, but I figured that Precyse was probably going to end up being investigated some day.

During the time that I was there, I had quite a lot of unpaid time. They expected me to be on the system and typing for my entire 8 hour shift. So that meant things like reading all the daily work emails, filling out my time card, emailing managers, etc, had to be done on my own time. So I basically ended up starting about a half hour early every day, to get that stuff out of the way, so then they wouldn't give me any grief for not being logged into the system and typing for my entire shift.

I was also a 3rd shift MT, but was required to attend mandatory daytime phone meetings and training sessions and whatnot, usually held in the mornings or early afternoons, in addition to working my full 8 hour shift later that same day. And I never did get any overtime pay when I was required to do that.

Then there were other things like when I had to take their online HIPAA training. I think we were told to put 1/2 hour down on our time cards for it, except it took me a little over an hour to complete it, so I really only got paid for half of it.

Anyway, I know I wasn't the only one going through things like this with them, so it sounds like someone there might have finally got fed up with it and probably reported it to the DOL.

Was hoping this would be my out from the evil Q. Doesn't sound very likely from what I'm hearing here. Is there any great company to work for out there anymore? I mean, hell, I might as well stay where I am.

Remember that recuiters have no clue what's really going on and will say anything to hire you. Be prepared for anything crappy because it's likely to come down the pike. Good times ended a long time ago.

I tried to apply for an MT job with Precyse last night, but was given a message that they aren't "hiring in my area." Has anybody else run into this? For MT Week last week we got Sonic Rocks which are testicle-shaped shiny black magnets. HR just sent around a warning that they're very strong magnets and to not keep them anywhere near the computer or anything that stores info magnetically because people are accidentally erasing their hard drives with these stupid things. Wonder how many new computers that's gonna cost... ...

I was just wondering what is happening at Precyse. I left Precyse last month after they sent my fourth account over to India, and there was no work. Management kept telling us to be patient and just use PTO, but we had not really had any work for months and had already used up most of the PTO.
