Wondering if anyone has applied recently to Focus. A couple of months ago I had tested and went through that whole process successfully when the recruiter sent me an email with the minimum computer requirements; operating system 32 bit, XP or VISTA, 1 GB RAM, 1 GHZ processor, etc. It was the 32-bit system that was the killer (mine was larger). When I went to see about purchasing said computer, I could not find one as a 32-bit is an older out-of-date system. Then I checked out E-Bay, emailing 3 different sellers in which I copied the "computer requirements". No cigar. I contacted Dell and they would "build" me one for $300.00 plus. A couple of days ago on MT Daily I saw where they were recruiting again for MTs and I was wondering if anyone knows if they are still requiring the above computer requirements. I know for a fact that Focus use to provide their MTs with a computer. I didn't pursue employment. Thanks in advance.

The requirements they list are MINIMUM requirements, not absolute requirements. If you have something larger/faster, it will work just fine and in fact, even better. They just want to know that people have at least what they have outlined as the bare minimum.

That's the thing, my computer was larger than a 32-bit and to work for them I was going to have to purchase a 32-bit. Kathy

This has nothing to do with Focus, but everything to do with the 32-bit question.

I work for an MTSO that requires 32-bit, but not Focus.

Reason being is that 64-bit encryption is not compatible with some of the software they use, so 32-bit is necessary.

32-bit is not an "old" system. It is kind of hard to find in the store though. As an FYI, both Vista and Windows 7 have a 32-bit and a 64-bit version.

I have never heard a discussion as to the encryption on an XP computer being incompatible with anything. If you can still get your hands on an XP, I would suggest it. I bought a Vista about a year and a half ago and really am not impressed. I have not tried Windows 7 yet.

Good luck in your search. Remember, when in doubt, talk to the tech people! Recruiters don't all know what you need. The one where I work now had to hook me up with tech support so that they could answer my computer questions before I would take the position offered.

Your computer will work FINE, as you have at LEAST - the minimum requirements plus more. nm

That was offering part-time acute care work for ICs. You would also qualify for your RHIA certification when you graduate. They state that a CCS or CCA credential will satisfy the coding courses in the program.
