I just talked to one of the owners a week ago and he told me they had no work. insurance is expensive. they do have a great system to type on unless they put you on a Meditech account. they're really good guys but they just run out of work just like all the others.

Was probably one of the worst, but thankfully short-lived, experiences...
I had doubts from the start, but this was a part-time opportunity so I could afford to take a chance. Almost immediately I realized the people I worked with were very unprofessional - as in immature. Training was poor, getting timely answers to real questions was rare because (they informed me) there were no MTs in-house - meaning my questions had to be relayed to other MTs in the field since not even my "supervisors" were MTs, and that takes time. It is no way to provide proper support for an MT.
As to the 'owners'? When I did have a legitimate complaint, my emails were ignored by upper management. As were voice messsages I left for a return call.
They also have an internal email system which works to their advantage, not the MTs.
Maybe they have reformed since then, but judging from the 'tude I experienced, well that would be surprising :)

I've been working there since October and I really like it. I have a primary VA acct and a secondary VA acct and on federal holidays I now have a regular hospital acct. There is always plenty of work. The insurance isn't expensive at all...it is much cheaper than what I had with my previous employer..but it is limited insurance. Maybe they changed from the expensive one and got this one, I really don't know since I've only been there since October. Training was very disorganized. They could do better with that but their system is easy so it doesn't take long to get the hang of it and you don't spend much time loading in demographics. I'm on the acuity program.
I get aggravated when calling support and they have me on speaker phone..I really hate that as I can barely hear them... My complaints are really small though with this company as I used to work for Transcend and believe me, eTransPlus is much better! Strict typing.. no VR and have plenty of work..I work M-F 9-5 :)
The programs, Meditech and Acuity/Mongoose, - wannie

are both horrible. Meditech is not user friendly and Acuity/Mongoose drags, won't always expand Shorthand entries, hangs up and sits for several minutes. It's awful. Some of the accounts, I have several to keep me in work, are absolutely the pits. My supervisor, however, is very pleasant and willing to work with you.
I agree, their systems are nothing to be desired and I found myself losing money on them - former employee

I actually hated both of these systems also and could not make any money on either one of them. It was always slow going on both of these for me as well. It was awful when I worked on them and I quit just because of their system being so awful. A girl has to make some money and when you can't because of the system you are working on, well then it's time to find a new job.

ugh...I hate that too. I'm on acuity mongoose and sometimes it just drags along...ugh! But, I will say it is still faster than VR and a lot less frustrating. At least it is strictly typing....hope that lasts...not so sure about this line of work anymore :(

Any time I have complained about it...I'm given info on how to check MY computer and sometimes they will have me look into their program with them on my computer but it never does any good. I think they are just trying to pacify me. My computer is running fast when online...EXCEPT when using their program...ugh! I'm so frustrated.

They usually tell me to try rebooting my computer, undoing and reconnecting my Internet, etc. I know it's not a problem on my end, because I rarely have any trouble with anything but their stuff.

Hi. I've been offered a position with them, and after reading all these posts I don't know what to think. It all sounded good. Is the Acuity platform (that is the one I'd be working in) still bad? Thanks for ANY input on them!

ETransPlus Line Count Question Feb 24, 2010Have any other eTransPlus MTs noticed it being harder to get their lines recently? I just doubled check and for a 46 line document in Word, I was credited with 32 lines in EXT. Before it seems like both counts were equal.
