I may be seeking a new position, and in general, due to possible better flexibility, I prefer to work as an IC. I read that transportal does hire ICs, but I also read that they require 1200 lines per day, and you have 3 months to get to that minimum. I must confess that, on the account I have worked for years, it is a struggle to make 1,000 lines per day. Maybe it is the platform. Maybe it is the fact that the account is always making changes or has a ton of "exceptions" to the 20-page guidelines. My main account is acute care, but I have also worked clinic accounts (FP, plastic surgery, psychology, psychiatry, etc.) for over 6 years. I am used to having a minimum line count per pay period, so if you have a rough day (say you are sick or family member is in the hospital or the toilet explodes and floods half the house), I can work some on my days off to make up lines. Is Transportal at all flexible on the 1200 lines or do the platform and the balance of account types make it usually easy to make 1200 lines by a 3-month learning curve? If you do not make the 1200 every day, do they cut the contract the very first day it happens or is there communication with a supervisor? Any other good IC companies ? I actually like my current company, but there may be a shortage of work soon (gut feel but no facts yet). I guess I am thinking that, with acute care experience, most companies are likely to put me on acute care accounts with 70% ESL. There are ESL doctors on my accounts, with some being quite difficult, but the balance is not that bad. I would love some honest feedback from someone happy there who has no problem making the lines per day or has had an understanding supervisor who allows some ability to make up the lines if there is a toilet explosion. Thanks!
