Does anyone have information on the workload at Transcend. Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

and that is the ONLY good thing I can say personally. I always got my paycheck deposited on the correct date - if you want to call it a paycheck. In order to get any paycheck at all you have to subject yourself to many many hours beyond your shift to meet any requirements.

I think that they might have lost a large account fairly recently. The reason I say that is because I was supposed to be put on a big hospital account back when I did work there. But I ended up going to work for a different company, and now my new company has work from the account that I was supposed to be put on at Transcend. So, I think that Transcend either lost the whole account or at least a sizeable portion of it.

I don't like the fact of how you enter your time on their timecard system...you only put in the time you actually typed and use a stopwatch if that helps you keep up with it..You don't count the whole time you sat in the chair and had to research during the typing. So, in other words..you will never get any OT. I never cared to get OT anyway as long as I made a good rate..but at 4 cents a line for VR....and working over 10 hours a day...OT would be nice !

I have plenty of work, and usually do. I do straight transcription, no VR, with multiple accounts. Good QA, good communication, very flexible, decent pay by today's standards.

and have had no problems. Pay is always on time, great team leads and rarely am out of work. I end up working extra because I like my account and some of the interesting patients I have come across.

I work there and it takes forever to get the line requirements due to VR.. You spend just as much time correcting the stupid thing as it would be to type it and you get paid half as much. You have to work several hours over just to make it. They have a few accts with strictly typing but not many and who knows how long that will last? I asked to be moved to one and they said they don't have any strictly typing jobs....however I have seen them post ads for such jobs. I found another job that is strictly typing with another company and I'm gonna take it...and get out of Transcend fast!!!!!

That is nothing but a bold face, straight out lie. I work at Transcend and I do nothing but straight typing. I am seeing a lot of snakes in the grass these days. What goes around comes around and I hope it bites them all in the a**!

then the heck with you. I have 6 accounts, by request, and every single one of them is still strictly typing. I know the company WANTS all accounts eventually moved to their platform, but all clients may not agree. And if they do, well, they do. But right now, after a year of being with T, they are all still straight typing.

I think StrictlyTyping was inferring Transcend had lied to the MT who requested to be transferred to a straight typing account when they told her they had no such accounts. I don't think his/her post was calling you the liar in this situation.

Maybe he/she will post again to clarify, but when I read the post, I assumed it was Transcend being called "snakes in the grass."

it would sure be nice if the team leads did not take all the good work and leave the lousy dictators for everyone else. This really needs to be monitored by management unless cherrypicking is one of the benefits they provide to team leads. My team lead even admitted she does it all the time.

This makes tons of sense as we get occasionally a few jobs to type (very seldom) but they always seem to be hard dictators....hmmmmmmm.....now I understand! Mgmt is stealing all the easy typing jobs before they come to us! grrrrrrrrrrrr I'm still there part time but don't know how much longer I will make it :/

Yes. They must. Sometimes it takes twice as long to get my lines in because of the sucky dictators I get stuck with.

Happened to me when I was with Transcend - TT MT

My team lead admitted to doing it too. She even laughed about it. She said "we have to meet our quota too." This is when I noticed my work was disappearing from my accounts, and by the way it was all the easy dictators too!! They also said that they take care of their own, meaning they had specific MTs that they really liked, so they would make sure that the best work got to them.

My TL never admitted to cherrypicking, but it was obvious what was going on. I too experienced work disappearing from my accounts and all easy dictators. My primary was a psych account with about 6-7, extremely easy dictators, excluding maybe 1-2 dictators (and that was only due to one with a low soft voice and one who just basically did not have good dictating skills), but all in all not all that bad). At one point always got my lines done in about 6 hours, but would work the full 8 hours and made good money on this straight typing account. All of a sudden there was never any work on this account and when there was work it would be the 1-2 that were not as easy as the others. Really frustrating when you KNOW what is happening and when questioned they give you the runaround.

It's pretty obvious what's going on when you see 10 jobs with the best dictators suddenly disappear from the workpool. If they had any kind of decent character at all, they would be taking their share of the "garbage" jobs like everyone else is forced to do. Top line rate and your choice of the best work...can't beat those perks, can you? Our kids have to eat too. You shouldn't have to move up to management to be treated well and fairly. Don't discourage your MTs against cherrypicking and allow those in management to get a pass. The company needs to really examine this poor practice and put a stop to it, but doubtful they if they haven't so far.

you can certainly see them disappear fast. Getting paid 4 cents a line for editing stinks. I'm glad I got another full time job and now I think I'm gonna cut those ties with Transcend and not even work there part time..... basically making $8.00 an hour on the horrible beyondtxt progam is frustrating. I could get a part time job in retail making more than that...it's crazy.....

Nothing I like better than to have no work on a Saturday (when I am supposed to be working) and then get E-mailed throughout the day on Sunday asking for help and that the acount will fall behind and out of TAT. Please... give me a break. Just ridiculous. Could you at least entice me to do some "supposed" extra work by at least giving an incentive. I'm really ticked off. Normally I have work every day. Today I have not been assigned any work and have been sitting here waiting and watching for work to come in. If they have no work for me, why don't they let me know that the work is low and nothing will be coming in? I've noticed in reading posts lately a LOT of companies are majorly low on work. I'm looking to make contact with those MTs/SRs who are having issues keeping a steady flow of work from their current company or having issues with finding and keeping positions in MTSOs due to low workloads and lack of communication from the employers/MTSOs. I am an IC and have a prospective cliient who might have more work than I can handle on my own. I was really just looking for part-time job and this opportunity basically fell in my lap! I am not sure whether to just take the job and hire other ICs to help with my overflow or just tell them I am only looking for part-time work and risk losing eveyrthing. Did VR develop Alzheimer's? It has lost everything. I am tired of no commas, periods, and everything else it reverted back to since its infancy. I am curious as to if the TLs are meeting their requirements. They are expected to type 75-80% of their time and get paid by the line as well . I am very suspicious that they are not typing VR all day, having their work sent to India, etc, and are getting the straight typing. They get paid a flat fee per month for their administrative duties on top of that. I wonder if they are experiencing no work and looking at a blank screen most of their time& ...

I have read dozens of posts on the board about Transcend, some good and a lot not so good. However, I think there is an explanation for some MTs loving it there and others hating it so much. Transcend is a company made up of many other companies through mergers. The original Transcend who existed first, before acquiring other companies seems to be the problem. I was with the company for over five years, not once failing to meet the requirements of me yet I was told my position would have to change to 2nd or 3rd shift if I wanted to keep my job as there were no positions available for 1st shift.
