Stay away from Synernet! - Fair warning! sm

Posted: Jun 19, 2014

Seriously, the LAST thing you'll want to do is have to work closely with the management at Synernet. I had an extremely bad experience with them. I wish I could give more details, but I am bound to keep quiet (it was an agreement made). I was not an MT. Just know that for me to have to be so hush hush should be a signal to anyone considering employment with them. :)

I think they call people like you - SMT

[ In Reply To ..]
trolls. Really? You can't tell anything, but we are supposed to believe you? Sounds more like a disgruntled ex-employee. Who in their right mind would believe someone who says "I wish I could give more details, but I am bound to keep quiet (it was an agreement made)." Real honorable. You just broke an agreement. Sorry, not buying you.

stay away - nonbeliever

[ In Reply To ..]
Sounds like someone blowing smoke to me.

Ok, believe what you want, but do not cry to me - when you see I am m right. sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Why is it when honest people post warnings and can't post details, we're suddenly 'blowing smoke'? Did you consider that maybe there is truth to what I'm saying? I'm done trying to be nice here, all it causes is grief. Where's the rolling eyes smiley when I need one?

If you cannot give any details, then your warning sm - JMO

[ In Reply To ..]
really does not have much merit. If someone was standing outside a building and told me not to go in but told me he was not allowed to say why, I would not give much credence to that. Synernet is no slice of Heaven and you probably have legitimate issues, but unless you can shed more light on things, the warning is pretty meaningless.

If you weren't an MT, how do we as MTs relate to your - post? nm

x

Because she is referring to the management position offered there posted on MTjobs. - I do believe her

[ In Reply To ..]
I believe her because of the way they do treat us MTs! I can only imagine being a manager would definitely be no picnic having to work so closely with the other managers. They would have to pay me a whole bunch to do that for sure!

Are you sure you know what you're talking about? - I doubt it

[ In Reply To ..]
Whatever position that is for/replacing, unless you are sure that person IS the person in this thread bashing Synernet, I would not speculate publicly.

I believe her, too. Those who are posting that they do not - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
well I just have to wonder why some are so adamantly defending S.
I'm not defending Synernet nor am I saying I do not believe, but sm - JMO
[ In Reply To ..]
honestly, "stay away because I said so" is not much of a valid warning.
Believe me, that was posted for a reason. I am not - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
the OP, but....let's just say there was a definite very good reason she posted that!
secret - jj
[ In Reply To ..]
So why doesn't someone just spill this dark secret...it appears more than 1 person on here knows something..isn't that what this board is for..or just to see how many MT's you can scare and get to reply to your post? And yes, I do support Synernet..crazy as it sounds, I need my job and posts like this don't do much for job security, especially when it has no merit.

Welll....I am not afraid to post or give details. I owe that company NOTHING. If you don't kiss TL's ass, you are on the list to be ignored. The wench in payroll is rude. They have their little cliques. For a 2-week payroll period, I had 2.5 hours of work, all the while with them claiming that they were busy. I guess I wasn't the fair-haired child. And...on the tail-end, I changed my settings and discovered the voice recognition software by accident. There were at least 3 people IMMEDIATELY sending me smacks on the hand. Smirk...I knew all I needed to know then. Good luck if you work there. I give it 6 months before you will turn tail and run.
What the heck are you talking about? Changed your settings and discovered the VR - software?
[ In Reply To ..]
What does that mean? Do you work for Synernet? There is no software. You just watch the video and they turn on your VR.
Synernet - MTPockets
[ In Reply To ..]
Well, YOU ARE WRONG. I was OUT OF WORK. I changed the settings in the work pool and voila...a speech recognition report showed up...two of them as a matter of fact. I IMMEDIATELY got an e-mail from THREE DIFFERENT STUPIDVISORS telling me to get out of the report. It was in the infancy stages and was a test file. I knew then where it was going. So, pfffftttt. I know what I am talking about. You weren't there.
What do you mean you knew where it was - MT
[ In Reply To ..]
going after that? Do you mean you knew it was going to VR or something else? They are going to VR, but not all the work. Confused on just what that meant to you and curious, not bashing you.
Synernet - MTPockets
[ In Reply To ..]
I knew it was going to voice recognition, but the point was not so much that but that I HAD 4 accounts and during the hours that I worked, I had little to do. I can't access the system anymore or I would gladly copy and paste my OUT OF WORK emails that I sent. Synernet, when I started, was one of the better companies. Synernet, when I left (OF MY OWN ACCORD) was my biggest nightmare. Thanks for not bashing me. Had enough of that, thanks.
I don't believe it - Doubtful
[ In Reply To ..]
I call BS on this 2.5 hours of work story that you keep telling. First of all, I have been there almost 5 years and have never had that little work even on a slow holiday. Second, you've said it was in your last week of work, then October to November, and now in a 2-week payroll period - which is it? Can you give us some proof? As far as changing your work pool, you're not supposed to do that unless you're told to, and you got jumped on, so what? You didn't get smacked on the hand because you found out some secret about VR but because they put people where they're needed. We may not always like it but that's the way it is. You sound like a pouting 4-year-old who didn't get the special treatment she thought she deserved so flounced off in a huff and now is telling anyone who will listen how bad the people are who didn't give her what she wanted. (And no, I am not a troll or BFFs with T, V, or any of the supervisors or leads.)

Listen...my last check was 57.00 and change...and they took insurance from that. YEAH, I worked 2.5 hours. I really don't give a fat rat's ass if YOU believe it or not. And I have probably been doing this WAY longer than you have and you can stick your snotty remarks up your butt. WHAT I WANTED WAS WORK. WHAT I DIDN'T GET WAS WORK. I have moved on, but you can bet your ass it won't be long before you are out the door too. My last paycheck was in November. My last work was in October. Admittedly, I know I wasn't supposed to change my work pool. TRUTHFULLY, I only wanted to see what was available. I damn near lost my home over this. SO BITE MY AMPLE WHITE ASS.
Wow. From the sound of this post, I'm sure they are sad you left... - but
[ In Reply To ..]
It is really unfair that people who had problems with a company because they broke the rules and display an extremely obviously negative attitude can come here and bash a company, and possibly deter an MT from finding a good fit just because the MT in question with the bad attitude who broke the rules provides untrue, unfounded, and defamatory information.
Really? That's your response? - Still doubtful
[ In Reply To ..]
I wasn't trying to be snotty and didn't think I was, but if anyone who doubts you and dares to say so is snotty then I guess I was. You may have moved on to another job but you're obviously still carrying a big grudge and a lot of bitterness about your job at Synernet, which it looks like you left months ago. And why would I be out the door? I've been there for several years, it's as good a job as any, and I don't have a bad attitude to get in the way of doing that job. If you don't care what I think, why did you go off like that? I could hear your foot stomping from here. I already said I'm not a troll, but I can't prove that any more than you can prove what you're saying. I've been an MT for 25 years but how long I've done this or who I am doesn't make your reply any less immature.

I am happy that it works for you. I did not have the same experience and I am entitled to my opinion based upon my experiences. My family suffered some pretty significant devastation as a result of lack of work despite PLEADING so you bet I was angry. Good luck to you. I am happy I no longer have to plead and the folks I deal with now are gracious and helpful. So...end of story on Synernet. One paycheck was not the entire story. I could roll with that. It went on for a couple of months that hours were short and the bills didn't stop.
Good luck to you. I know what happened to me and I know others who had the same thing happen to them with the explanation "work is low" while others survived.

//End of rant.

TTS - Stay Away
Feb 04, 2010

Stay away from this place.  They have no technical support and terrible communication. I tried to work with them for 3 weeks and was never able to work without problems.  The owner told unemployment that my issues were normal technical issues, resulting in my benefits being suspended.  I also spent money on software and upgraded my ISP and she's saying I didn't give enough effort! It's been my past experience that when I start with a new company platform that after a few days ...

Why I Stay
Aug 23, 2010

As much as I hate it here, I feel like I am trapped here. I am getting ready for major surgery and need the insurance. I can't afford to go to another co. and wait for insurance to kick in, plus "pre-existing condition" worries. I could just sit and cry when I start work. NJA and helper pools for hours, plus I don't feel well.  Flame me if you want (usually someone does), tell me how lucky I am to have a job with insurance. I really am beyond caring. Okay, just my private pity p ...

Why Do You All Stay?

I understand all the difficulties involved in trying to get into another line of work but why do so many of you stay month after month when you have no work?  It's not going to get any better.  I have had work but the work is so terrible that I suspect they won't put a lot of MTs on it because they can't handle it.  I've been doing this over 40 years and the work makes me want to cry much of the time.  I'm only part-time and think if I had to do this full-time I woul ...

Should I Stay Or Should I Go ?
Feb 13, 2013

So, the long and short of it.  I have been an IC for the last 15 years.  I have typed for orthopods, general practioners, neurologists, dermatologists, and have done 2 years of acute care (both in-house and at home).  After transplanting to TX and losing my full-time job in MI, I've been searching for that "perfect" transcription job.  I love being an MT .... love the work, the flexibility, etc ... and have been told on many occasion that I am good at what I do ...

Stay Or Go?
Mar 23, 2014

Having a hard time deciding whether I should continue working for MM until they go under and have to lay off everyone and I could collect unemployment or if I should just leave, thereby leaving behind all the stress and frustration that I feel daily. I do not necessarily need the $, but it does help pay some bills. If I stay, I would have to do some training for Fluency and switch to VR from straight transcription. I know my pay will be cut drastically with this change. I'm not sure I ...

Please Tell Me How To Stay Focused!!! Sm
Dec 04, 2009

Stay Employed At TTS
Jun 15, 2011

So, from what I understand, to stay employed at TTS, you basically have to just work and agree with mgmt at all times?  Never question them on anything?  Is that the only thing they are concerned about??!!  No one has ever mentioned how they feel about production met or not, etc.  Not that meeting production would be a problem for me, but if they don't care about that, it makes me wonder what kind of company they are running if all they care about is being right and not being questioned ...

Stay Away From Advantec
Oct 03, 2011

I was just fired from Advantec, working on an oncology account because they told me that they did not have time to train me on account specifics for the 25 doctors, each with a different template, and because I got 2 experimental drug names incorrect. I was on 100% review and if I did not understand a word I left a blank and went from there.  I am very upset about this.  I have been a transcriptionist for 10 years and I am very upset about this.  ...

If You Stay In MT Long Enough, You
Jan 07, 2012

I was just reading the BOS3, which (unfortunately, as it DECIMATES the rules of proper English) more and more employers are adhering to these days.  VERY disturbing.  They want only ONE (oh, excuse me -- 1) space after periods and other punctuation marks (colon, etc.)  This will, of course, CUT YOUR LINE COUNT. They claim that this is necessary for proper uploading to the EHR, but we placed TWO spaces after a colon at the hospital where I used to work without any problem.  ...

How Do They Stay In Business?
May 18, 2013

I've read post after post after post, in addition to having my own experience with Nuance and I really wonder how this company as well as M*Modal stay in business.  I guess even though people are quitting left and right or being fired for not having 99% accuracy, there must be more people waiting in the wings to take their places. I originally came from Transcend prior to the acquisition by Nuance and although I can't say that company was the best either, IMO, it was better than ...

Trying To Stay Positive Looking For Job
