SS ad: Plenty of work available to allow you to earn what you need TODAY!!! sm - If you only need to earn $30 a day

I average about 400-500 lines a shift (full time), so I guess if you can live on $36-45 a day, they are not lying.

I am part-time - and about a month ago, my direct deposit was 5.50 for 1 report in a whole 2 week period. It seems like it may be picking up now - but it has been ridiculous = thank god I am only part-time and this is not my main source of income or I would be homeless
I never hear anything about the big new accounts anymore either. I think they just sm - JMO

overhired and now don't have enough work for everyone, yet they keep on advertising! I'm losing my faith in my PM. She thinks giving everyone just 2 accounts will solve the problem. It didn't work before, so not sure why she thinks it will work now. I have 2 other jobs (part time) and I make more at each one of them than I do with SS as my full-time job. I asked my PM if I could go part time since I only get part time work, but she hasn't bothered to answer me. SS bites.

It's got to be one or the other. Either hiring the PMs and trying to get new accounts is the last hurrah before the end or else they are really trying to turn things around. It's depressing, because over the last while I've become kinda fond of the Script. Working there is like MASH--completely screwed up, no one know what the hell is going on, and yet the people are basically good. But yeah it does bite about the pay and no work.
The people I have talked with -- mentor, trainer, training manager -- have all been nice, but sm - LTMT

nice doesn't pay the bills. I had high hopes when I started, but now I am just surrounded by an aura of disappointment. If I ever had a full shift of work, I'd probably fall over dead from the shock. Tonight I sent my resume out and took a transcription test for a different company. Three months is long enough to wait. :(

Not only does SS advertise that there's plenty of work, they also advertise that they give yearly reviews. That couldn't be further from the truth.
I've been looking at exchange rates as well as information on salaries for MTs in India trying to figure out what they are earning. As best I can tell, a rupee is worth about 2 cents. If my math is correct, a starting MT is earing about $160/month. I cannot find any information as to their line rate. If anyone has better math skills (and it would not be difficult) please correct me. At that rate, you can see why they want all the work to go to India. Even ...
a goldmine, PLUS an opportunity to put those immoral MTSOs in their place. Every job has the time it was submitted and who did it. If those times are strung-out over 10-14 hours when the MTSO bogus records show you worked an 8-hour shift, who do you think will come out ahead in a lawsuit? Also, keep a log on the REAL hours you worked as icing on the cake. An employment attorrney would have a ball with this. ...
A post on the company board got me to think about what it is we (as MTs) need in terms of pay. Does 3 cpl provide for you and your family (if you have dependents)? Does 12 cpl provide that need? What is your daily average of income regardless of whether it is voice recognition or straight income? Do you have a bottom line that you will not cross or will find something outside of medicatl transcription?
I will post separately my personal need and hope others will share theirs. ...
I have never worked on ChartNet and am wondering how hard it is to learn and the earning capacity in it. I love escription but this new account is ChartNet.
Thanks all! ...
So here is a blindly obvious question. With all of the job ads on this site, who is getting hired? Are they actually real jobs that are being posted by "real" people who actually need MT work done? Are any of you applying and getting these jobs. I have found that there is NEVER a shortage of MT jobs to apply for. There are ALWAYS ads on several sites soliciting the help of both experienced and newer MT's. As many MT's that are on this site I think I would here a few more success s ...
I will be starting second shift, Sunday through Thursday, with Nuance. I have not given notice yet to the company that I am currently working for because I'm thinking of hanging onto them in case there is a shortage of work with Nuance. Anybody else work this shift? How is the workflow? I've read a lot about people not being able to meet the full-time requirements to receive benefits because there simply is no work. Is this true? I'm a single mo ...
Today I have had plenty of work without having to jump around all over the place. I enjoy working at MModal. They have been good to me and I have been fortunate to have supervisors who will work with me and I can work with them. I feel very fortunate to have a job right now when so many others are out of work and cannot find them. In the last 6 months, I have only had 1 day when there were no jobs available. Within a couple of hours, my supervisor called and asked me to work on an acc ...
I have an interview with TTS tomorrow. Can anyone who currently works there tell me if they have issues with running out of work at this company? Thanks in advance! ...
They have taken on a couple dozen new accounts this year. They are a huge company and use Escription and Dictaphone Extext. They are owned by Dictaphone so rest assured they will have work when other companies are running out. The team leads are in America now, not in India. I would rather work for them and know I will get my lines and get paid than to make zero on another job because I'm pouting about working for a company that sends work to India. Just a FYI. ...
there is a LOT of work there and encouraging us to transfer there from Beyond Text. I'm not sure if I believe this though. How is the early morning workload generally? TIA for any info. ...
I thought about applying, but there seem to be a lot of negative posts, although there were some stating that the work was flowing again. Any information is appreciated.
TIA. ...
At least most of the time? Thinking of changing status, but don't want to get into a no-work situation. FT work available is already much less than used to be before Transcend buyout. ...
I was hired and told there was plenty of work. I could get all the pages I wanted. I am seeing a patten of only 1-2 days a week where I get work and the other days it just trinkles in. Is the the normal pattern for the work flow?? If so, I may have to swim out of this stream real fast. Any info you would be willing to share with me would be appreciated.
I left my last job because of low work volume but was getting more than this. I came to Silent Type because I was promised pl ...
I am so tired of trying to find that "perfect" fit for a company to work for. Good companies are so few and far between and I just want to finally find a fair place. It seems like the only companies left are MModal and Nuance and I wouldn't work for them for anything. So, before I apply for Synernet, how are things there?
Thanks :) ...
By this time in the day, usually, there has been at least 7 emails - several from QA, at least 2-3 backlog updates, and 1 reminder to work our shift and work our entire shift. ...
Did y'all get the work status e-mail this morning? At the end it says, "as you can see, there is plenty of work available." How insulting. I have had no work for a very long time and this morning is no different. Who else doesn't have work this morning? Do ever wonder if work is being limited to those who have been there a long time and our CPL is higher than the new people they're hiring for those pathetic line rates? I think they want us long-timers to quit. ...
My work is normally about 97% ASR, today I have only had 1 ASR job. I'm not complaining, quite the opposite actually. I'm just curious if anyone else is getting less ASR work today. I was hoping it was down and we can expect a day or two of straight typing. ...
Unable to log on because DQS needs to be updated. Then can't update on DocuManage because there's no link. They tell me they someone will call back and help me, but they have no way of knowing when. This would definitely qualify for technical downtime, am I right? Anyone else having this issue today? ...
DQS is driving me crazy today. When I push the pedal, it takes a couple seconds to start playing. If I let off the pedal, it keeps going for a couple seconds and I can't get it to stop. The typing I am doing does not keep up with my finger speed either, with words not showing up until after I've typed them.
I use my own computer and have never encountered this issue before. It is a major hindrance though, slowing me down.

Typing that last report, signing out for the last time.....it was all very surreal. I still can't believe I actually left. Sad though because I wasn't offered anything PT (not that I would had taken it), and nobody said "we'll be happy to take you back". AND....no exit interview. Guess I thought they appreciated me more than that. Oh well. Some of my friends wished me well and will miss me. Thats all I need. ...
Horrendous, absolutely horrendous. It felt like I was editing an ASR report. If they are all like this one, then I have no worries about losing my job to the Indians because once the clients see the garbage that is coming out of there, they will be begging for the USA. ...
Since my shift started a little over an hour ago, I have blown out my hair, cleaned the bathroom, made a dentist appointment and paid some bills! Whew! Looking for what to do next because it sure doesn't look like I'll be doing any typing this morning. NJA all day so far! Weeeeeee!!!!! (Sorry, just needed to try to make some humor out of it). Hope everybody has a great weekend! ...
