Just the fact that "Kate" does not know the difference between a transcriber (a machine) and a transcriptionist (a person) would be enough to make me wary.
Does anyone actually work for MW Transcription Services?
When you go to her website, all you find is her hawking her book and multiple ads for schools (including the matchbooks that guarantee $60,000 year). Her “SERVICES” and “RATES” tabs are empty. How does a company get any business without having any of that type of information on their website? In fact, the only tabs that have any information are the ones that offer her ebook for sale and her ...
I have visited their web site and seen their new ad. I was wondering if anyone who visits this board has any work experience/history with them. TIA ...
Can anyone tell me where there test is located? A few months ago I was invited to test with them, couldn't find their test, so took another job instead and now regret it. Do they e-mail it or is it on their site? Also, can anyone give me the good/bad of this company? ...
Does anyone currently work, or has ever worked, for MTII? I've seen their ads on this board a couple of times and, with 10+ years experience, once submitted my resume but never heard back. Their website seems somewhat warm and personal...before throwing my hat into the ring again, this time I thought I'd inquire as to if anyone else has worked for them and how the ladies are to work for.
TIA for any info :) ...
I got an email from them asking if I was still interest in part-time work. Funny thing is, I don't remember applying to them. But then again, I applied to so many places, I just can't recall them specifically. ...
Just looking for the usual input...pay scale, type of work (VR/straight) and ratio of each, quality of human and work interface. Feel free to send an e-mail if you'd prefer. ...
I was looking at job ads on a website called findtranscriptionwork.com. I found it on a search engine, have never seen this site before. I found a job listing for an India-based company looking for a business transcriptionist preferably located in India, and they are paying $20 an hour to start.
Hmmmm. ...
Wondering how other TT transcribers feel about the past few months audits. They say one thing one month, and the next months audit you do it the way I corrected it and then it comes back corrected again...confusing...I feel the audits are very subjective...they can find errors if they want to...seem to do it on mine,,,I got major errors for lack of a comma....a period...and a patient care error because I did not hyphenate between a two word titled syndrome.....when asked how that cha ...
Hello,
I just graduated from Career Step with High Honors. Has anyone ever heard of South Florida Medical Transcribers? They are hiring part time, but they don't have a website. I'd love to hear if anyone knows anything. Thanks! ...
On this posting only 1 was found a while ago and the transcriptionist said it was 2 hours away and she needed the job badly, but no questions were answered and she would have to drive 2 hours away tao be trained. The pay was very low and many difficulty factors. Wondered if over the years, anytihing has changed. This is just a one-owner business and not a big national. ...
just curious... I see the scam ad for belly fat on main screen here now. This "julie" person does the exact same advertising for several products - same wording. There's no such person, no such TV station. If you look closely, top of screen has word ADVERTORIAL on status line. That is their blanket disclaimer that pretty much means it's all made up, not a factual person or situation. Just a story. Why is it on this site? ...
I've done medical trans for 20 years, QA for 10, feel pretty stupid that I failed the online test for WordZxpressed and was referred to CareerStep. Is this a scam? ...
A company called Global Marketing Specialist Group has been trying to post ads repeatedly. They are NOT an MTSO company. They want you to pay $165 for a "background check" and then they will give you a list of potential employers or clients.
They are trying to post more ads using alternative e-mail addresses such as gmsgtranscription@. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. They are not being up front with you and are simply trying to make money from you. You shoul ...
Is anybody else going through this? Transform used to be a great company, been there for years making good pay, good accounts. Lately they have just insituted this fancy new "pay" system where our base pay has been decimated but we get to make up some of it up by jumping through all these hoops, like typing more than 1000 lines gets you a percentage increase (percentage of what), using typing keyboard "shortcuts" gets you more crumbs here and there. In the end we really don ...
Hello everyone,
I've never posted on here before, but a good friend suggested I do so. I've been working for a company, Astat Transcription, and I fear that they are not going to pay me the last two paychecks that I am due. I gave them two week's written notice of my intentions to leave and they asked me to continue working for two weeks, which I did. They tell me they sent me an email asking me to stop work on Nov. 30 and that they would mail my final check, bu ...
It was a get-rich scheme from the very beginning. Brilliant, really. Except that when they championed the offshoring of our work, and the lowering of our wages, they made it so that most MTs with anything between the ears but empty space would question the value of the BOS, the validity of the CMT, and the very existence of this so-called "for-the-MTs" organization. S - Superficial,C - Contrived,A - andM - Meritless! ...
I was contacted by a company wanting to interview by chatting. I did all that, and it sounded so great. Set your own hours, work as much as you want, etc. All I had to do to get started was pay $295 for the software they use. I did some fast Google searches in another window and decided not to. They pointed out that as an Independent Contracter, I was responsible for my own equipment. I pointed out that I bought my own hardware, which is almost universall ...
If you applied to a position regarding, this time path and hist transcription, and sent your contact information to a karen_hill19@yahoo.com, you will hear back from her and be asked to add a David Winkler to your yahoo messenger, wherein he will ask to do an interview with you online. At the end of the interview he will tell you the following:
davidwinkleronline: You will be undergoing a (1) one week training and orientation which will commence as soon as you have all ...
I recently applied for a job on MTJobs.com and received a reply a couple of days later that asked me to add a friend to yahoo messenger for an online interview. I added the person and went through a 40+ minute interview process. At the end of the interview process, I was offered the position. They would be sending me the documentation in the mail. Along with this package there was going to be included a check for the computer system. I informed the person that I had ...
When you click on web address, it brings you to a blog page. I also searched for a long time and absolutely nothing comes up for this company. When calling phone number, name does match answering machine message though. Sent resume and it was returned as delivery failure. ...
They've been sticking me with 1 "error" just about every other week. That 1 "error" brings my pay down to just about 8 cpl, very close to minimum wage every other week.
I got to thinking. With the old pay plan I was getting the quarterly bonus almost every time. That means I had at least 99.5% accuracy for 3 months at a time. So I ran a report on my QA jobs for the past 3 months. My QA accuracy came to 99.6%. Same accuracy as on the old pay plan, but yet I'm such a bad transcrip ...
I recceived a letter the other day as an advertisement stating "Work from the comfort of your home! Typist needed. 1,000's of immediate openings available. No experience necessary. Flexible hours, FT or PT, competitive pay. Must be ablet to type 85 words or more per minute. Must be detailed oriented, accurate, and have good listening skills. Typing test will be administered. Most positions require that applicant reside in the US. I ...
Sciance Transcription is a company sending most work to India, doesn't pay. I mean, I worked and I am not getting a paycheck. I have had to file a complaint with Labor Commission. They are not honest and do not communicate. When asked if we get paid the 0.095 per line for the # we see...or...are they still deducting spaces from that number? They won't answer you. They pay for black characters only, so you could think you are getting paid for a 1000 li ...
Nuance recruited me with a promise of six paid holidays, the usual major U.S. holidays. It includes these holidays in its (new) Employee Handbook. However, I have just learned that Nuance does NOT provide paid holiday pay per se. It provides a measley "incentive" of 25% above usual line pay only if one works the holiday. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY'S RECRUITERS. This company's benefits are the worst I have seen in the industry. Since hospitals have b ...
