Medical Transcribers II - Just wondering...

Posted: Aug 03, 2011

Has anyone had any experience with this company?

Just accepted a position with them today and am SO excited - NewMTII MT

I've heard great things about them and love the fact that they're a small, personalized service. The women sound like A+ professionals, too, and know the entire MT biz, not just talking heads at the top of the totem pole like so many of the large MTSOs. I can't wait to turn in notice where I'm at now and practically starving to death and behind in the rent due to lack of work.

Does this company do radiology by any chance?

I believe they do but I'm not positive...Send them your resume - Cloud Niner

I actually got lucky and sent in my resume before they advertised here, tested and was hired. Honestly, I've heard such superlative things about this little company that I'm on cloud 9. Sounds like, being former MTs and a small company (and straight transcription on the account for which I was hired)that they don't overhire and have pretty nice benefits, too (employee status). They even worked with me about which shift would work best for me and I got hours that are PERFECT for my needs.

As I said, send them your resume...Although I haven't started yet, from everything I learned during the phone interview, it sounds like just what I've been waiting for...work AND appreciation (two such simple things to ask and yet so hard to find these days).

Good luck and let us know how you fare :-)
Thanks! - Rad

Thanks so much! I will certainly check them out. I used to work for a very small company and I stayed there for 5 years. It was just as you describe. I would still be there but the woman I worked for ran the business out of her home and only had 1 radiology account. They told her on Friday they were going to VR and on Monday, I had no work. They decided to have the radiologists edit themselves. I cried for weeks. I hated to leave so bad!
Good luck and let us know what happens (see message) - Cloud Niner

By all means, send your invoice in and let us know what happens. It's nice to know there are still a few MTSOs small enough to have a personal feeling instead of just being a number on a timesheet. I'm celebrating just at the thought of having regular paychecks again. Also, I've noticed they rarely recruit; this is a sign to me that they certainly must treat their MTs well and are able to retain them, always a good sign, IMO.

Anyway, send that resume in and keep us posted. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Do they offer any health insurance coverage? - Zippy digits

I just noticed you said they have good benefits and was wondering if maybe health insurance was one of them. Thanks for taking the time to respond and congratulations on your new job!

I was wondering if it was health benefits too because their ad says benefits. What is their pay scale?
Benefits and Pay - Cloud Niner

I'm going to let them explain these to you, as I think the starting pay rate and benefits are commensurate upon experience and if you are going to be a part-time or full-time employee. I will say that it's about a 0.05 cpl increase over my current pay and we all know what a difference 0.05 cpl has on the paycheck when there's ample work. I start training today and the platform looks wonderful, very simple, and the account specifics for the account on which I'll be working look very straightforward and easy to follow. I'm sure I'll know more later in the week but from what I've heard and seen so far, this place is just precisely the "fit" I've been looking for.

Good luck to everyone who applies!
I was told they don't offer insurance--just wanted to verify. - Zippy Digits

I was just trying to make sure it was an across-the-board thing is all, because to me, that is the true essence of a benefit. So, if you said "yes" I was gonna be all upset.

Medical Transcription At Home To Become A Medical Scribe?
Jan 20, 2015

Has anybody left medical transcription at home to become a medical scribe?  I have an opportunity to do so but there aren't any scribes currently in my area and I don't know anyone who has worked as a scribe before.  The scribe position starting pay is almost double what I make as an MT per hour so it is very tempting, I just don't know much about it. ...
