Transtech transcribers....how do you feel about recent QAs - lost in cyberspace

Wondering how other TT transcribers feel about the past few months audits. They say one thing one month, and the next months audit you do it the way I corrected it and then it comes back corrected again...confusing...I feel the audits are very subjective...they can find errors if they want to...seem to do it on mine,,,I got major errors for lack of a comma....a period...and a patient care error because I did not hyphenate between a two word titled syndrome.....when asked how that changed patient care I got no reply...

I questioned this one time, too, and that wasn't major error according to the higher ups, but it still aggravated me, especially when I was told not to worry about the commas last year.

I think certain QA's do their darnest to find errors. Maybe they have a quota of needing so many errors to make them look better (just kidding).

What DOES irk me is when QA changes a word in a sentence that doesn't make sense at all making a word past tense when every other word in the sentence is present tense) during an audit, then get points against me, or when they change an abbreviation that's not allowed to that disallowed abbreviation.

Not happy with QA at all lately...except there IS one gal who's very kind and helpful. Can't mention her name but you might know who I mean. They all used to be like her, but no more.

and never once got audited. Now they are doing all these audits and mine came back with "significant errors." Well, over the past year and a half, no one ever told me I was making these "significant errors" so how was I to know? Management tells me one thing and QA tells me another....uuggghh

listening to the voice portion of the report, simply speed read through the document, edit what they need to and send the report on. There is no way you can maintain an exaggerated line count (over 18,000)each pay period and be a top notch transcriptionist, work only 8 hours a day and edit a 15-minute report in 2.5 minutes unless you aren't listening to it.

Cheese and crackers, I certainly hope people are not doing that! That would just be a big slap in the face to those of us who do let alone if you get enough people not listening to the voice and making critical errors, forget worrying about audits, start worrying about whether you'll have work if the client decides to drop us.
