Regarding needing to contact ex Transportal - sm

MTs I posted below, I want to thank everyone for their input, however I would still like to hear from a former Transportal MT just to make sure because he did specifically say to never run a system restore as it would break my machine, so just putting that out there:)

If you do not understand what restoring is, and you remain suspicious because of what you think some MTSO told you, you are not equipped to do this regardless of what we tell you, and you should take your computer to Best Buy and pay them to do it for you.

Nothing will break. There is nothing TO break. Youwill simply wipe out everything on your computer and start over. Which is the whole point behind this . . . starting over because something got screwed up and you don't know what it is.

As a previous poster noted, doing a restore should not be an issue as long as the restore date is after whatever was installed that might be affected. The typical default restore date is about a week. I have done it!!

consider checking with Best Buy Geek Squad (or similar services).

Short of this person literally maliciously booby-trapping your computer, no, it's not going to hurt your machine. Aside from which, those of us who have worked for multiple companies on multiple platforms -- that been installed and/or uninstalled over the years -- would heard about this(or something like it) and it would be "notorious" and really good reason to avoid any company whose platform came with such a warning...
I've found Geek Squad very helpful ... they might even answer this question over the phone.

Some (like me) people use restore fairly often when simply uninstalling software isn't enough or when a Windows update (or software upgrade) has unforeseen and unwanted side effects.

Did he tell you this when he encrypted you computer?

He told me to unencrypt my computer before doing a restore of my system, otherwise it may cause serious problems.

After 7 years, I began to get the failed audits. Interestingly, the past year, I was the second HIGHEST in QA AFTER A RANDOM QA AUDIT FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR! Go figure. I quit a few weeks ago. Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...

pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...
