Question on Keystrokes please- new hire? - Jessica

Hi - I was told I would hear back to test for Keystrokes on an ad from a few weeks ago. I have not heard back though. Their website now says they are not hiring. Anybody else go through this? Is it a temporary hiring freeze or something? I was told they had plenty of accounts and work when I last wrote there.

Doesn't look good for new hires at Keystrokes. They just lost 2 accounts and they need to find work for those MTs who are now without work. I would suggest going elsewhere. If you haven't heard from them by now, you probably won't.

It went to TTS

I heard it went to Nuance and not TTS. The hospital was bought out.

I applied and took the test for KS and passed with flying colors and received an email saying "Congratulations, you passed the test. Our IT Dept will be calling you in a couple of days followed by HR to discuss pay, etc." Guess what? Never got a call and when I emailed HR and the recruiting team, I got a somewhat cold reply back "All the positions have been filled" signed by the Executive Director of Operations! Are you kidding me? So I waited 7 days for IT to call me, wasting 7 days I could have been looking for another job!! Shame on you KS!! Who does that???

The reason they said the positions have been filled is because they lost some accounts and they have to find positions for the MTs who were on those accounts. It is a shame that you were left holding the bag, while they scramble to find work for the current MTs, but you might want to thank your lucky stars that you were not contacted. This is coming from experience. I know it sounds unfair, but this is how they fly, until they crash.

Just a question for everyone. I accepted a position and was to hear by the end of this week from my manager about doing some training on Tuesday of next week and have not heard one word. I did receive foot pedal, etc. I put a call out to the recruiter who told me my manager was going to contact me, but of course at MQ you always have to leave a message. part-timers for weekend work anymore? That's the way it was done for years, full-timers for M-F and part-timers for weekends, and it worked great because so many MTs are looking for extra weekend part-time work anyway. I have never been through a more horrific new hire training process anywhere. This is such a mess and I'm more confused than ever. I've had a job offer with a transcription company..however, my problem is I'm required to have MS Word, version 2007 or 2010,,,no student/teacher/starter or trial editions....and I've gone to Best Buy, E Bay and Amazon. I know this is an extreme long-shot, but I'm wondering if there are any good MT companies out there that hire M-F and pay a fair line rate (for the way things are today anyway). I just started with Nuance this past week. During the hiring process, I had good communication with the recruiter. During training, there was good communication with the person in charge of my training. However, since my first day on the job, I have only heard from my TSM once, and that was a bulk e-mail to lots of people. Is this typical? I thought maybe I was doomed to the lot of those who want to hire ICs to work as employees with set hours and all sorts of other restrictions but finally I am actually working as an IC with 24-hour turnaround time with both companies. I have just accepted a job with MedQuist. I have 20+ years experience. Why are they hiring if so many people (on this board at least) have less work, or little to no work?
