Question about Nuance training.. - gotajob

I've been hired to start at Nuance 12/13. I'm scheduled for 2nd shift. Could someone tell me how the training process works? From what I can understand, they will download their software into my computer and then what? Thanks!

They will send you a copy of the account specifics if they haven't already. Then they will set up a time for you to join a goto meeting via phone and online, and usually there are other new trainees listening in too. They will go over the platform training first, you know, how it works, everything about the platform you will use. Then they will schedule acct specifics training. They will go over the acct specifics thoroughly. Then they will let you start to work and you will be on full review, which is full QA, until you reach 99%. After you get to 99% accuracy you will be released from full review and that's it.

Before the goto meeting - you will get a few emails

with instructions on how attend several recorded training sessions, including platform training. I just started and had about 10 hours including installation, online training, goto meeting, accout specs, all of which was paid. By the time I started to work, I was very comfortable with everything.

If you're talking about the MTSO Formerly Known as Webmedx, it will probably include at least 20 minutes on how to navigate a PDF and then at some point, you'll learn how to do a ctrl+F search.

If you're account is on Enterprise, then pay close attention to sections on the autolist, right justify, center, underline, and creating tables because YOU WON'T NEED THEM. The company can't figure out how to use those features without crashing the system client-side.

In all honesty, focus on the Webmedx Standards and interpreting the account specifics contents. They use a template for the AS but when there is a deviation, there are usually inconsistences, i.e.,. flag to IQA if condition A under Demographics section, flag to EQA for same condition under Date of service section, and send directly to client for same condition under Date of Visit section.

Make sure you get ALL your questions clarified before your first shift because you won't get any after.

Other than that, you'll want to focus on any Shorthand training available (not lately but then again I avoid the trainers at all costs).

The best thing I can suggest is print out the Enterprise Shortcut screen. The trainers/manual authors never seem to get ALL the shortcuts in the same document. For the most part, even the Shortcut page doesn't have all the shortcuts listed, but it usually has more than the trainers' documentation.

Is anybody else overwhelmed by the exhaustive training program provided by Nuance? I just went through this and really had a hard time uploading their videos and getting into all the programs. Also the fact that they do not help too much. Maybe I am just slow as I am getting up there in age. It does make a difference when you are older. Every day ASR gets increasingly of base. There are so many times when I have to sit and search each line looking for anything that remotely resembles what is being clearly dictated.
