TTS training pay? - boygeorge
Posted: Sep 25, 2012
I'm finding it difficult to obtain an answer to this. Does anyone know if they pay for so many hours of training? I'm fearing they do not pay training at all.
TIA

For any training one-on-one (may be 1 to 1-1/2 hours), they pay New Hampshire minimum wage which is $7.50. If your state's minimum wage is higher be sure to let them know because that is what they are supposed to pay and don't let them tell you otherwise. If your state is lower, take the $7.50. They give you 2 to 4 pay periods to get your production up to their minimums which is 250 for SR and 125 for straight transcription and you need to maintain a QA score of 98% or higher. If you fail to increase production at a steady rate and maintain quality, they will offer all kinds of assistance to get you there, so always accept this gracefully as they will get po'd if you don't. So, until you get to their minimum production numbers, you will be paid NH minimum wage or whatever it is in your state if it is higher, but they won't do this indefinitely. That is the full and true story.

I am on the eScription team at TTS and although I had eScription experience before I started here last year it is very easy to get up to 250lph. I stay busy and the platform is really the best I have ever worked on, I cannot complain about my pay.
TTS - thanks

Hey, I appreciate the info! Peanut, that was very cool how you broke it down for me.
Their pay is too low, under .07 cpl for straight typing and close to .03 cpl for VR. Even with 300 lph in eScription, that's not $10 an hour.
No thanks for the foot pedal monitoring, big brother.

I actually gave two weeks notice after only working there a week. I had specifically asked about training pay and was told that they were required by law to pay me while I was training. It was really a misunderstanding I guess, because I didn't ask how long training would be, nor was I told that training was only going to be a couple of hours. I just assumed that for at least the first week, I would be considered "in training".
Having said that, I resigned on principle because my check was next to nothing the first week, despite putting in over 40 hours. I probably really cut my nose off in spite of my face. It was a very nice job... AWESOME platform. Sometimes I had to correct nothing on a dictation at all and the dictation was VERY interesting. After my 3 weeks there, I had already started making 250 lines per hour and was steadily increasing.
I will say this.... they do watch your foot pedal time which completely annoyed me. I would get called on only having my foot on the pedal 6-1/2 hours during an 8 hour shift. I was told to do "minimal research" which I couldn't stand. I hate sending documents to QA and not hearing back from them. How can you learn something if you don't take the time to find it out? Guess I'm just an old dog.
It is too bad...sm - Old Anon

Yes, I think you gave up too soon. After being on the same primary and secondary for months, I hardly have to do lengthy research and am doing 300-400 lph on my primary. I guess you did not know that if you write down job numbers, you can look them up later to see what was filled in the blanks. Of course that would be on your time, but you spent even 15 minutes a day, you would learn. QA does not have time to get back personally to everyone with a blank. You can also look up a dictator's past jobs and see what he's said in the past. Of course, I didn't catch onto these things right away either, but once I did it made things so much better and faster.

Training For 7.1 Aug 07, 2012About 6 weeks back I finished the training for 7.0. We were then told that go live was August 20, and that we had to do new training. I just did it. Who Is Training ASR??? Definitely Not The MT! Jul 04, 2013Every day ASR gets increasingly of base. There are so many times when I have to sit and search each line looking for anything that remotely resembles what is being clearly dictated. It started out with maybe 35% accuracy before editing. Now it barely makes 20%. It inserts phrases that were never dictated, apparently just because that dictator dictated that phrase at one time in the past on a different patient. It is having fun with "ALLERGIES" now. It started off only usi ...

Regarding The Old Reports Used For Training At MDI Nov 25, 2009I believe that these are old reports used for training, but I don't think they are training new MTs on the account. I believe they are training VR. Someone mentioned below that it doesn't make sense to pay someone to do old reports that have already been done, and I agree with that also. Plus, think about the fact that MDI had never, ever trained like this before, even after receiving email after email asking where all our work was going and why we had no work. ...
