Does MQ pay for training? - TIA

How long does training takes? How long do they give you to get up to speed, meaning getting your required lines in. Do they pay a shift differential?

It's only part-time. I have a secure full-time position at my local hospital. I stopped working full-time for MTSOs 6 months ago. Paid $17.00 an hour, no incentive, no headache, excellent benefits. It is stable, but not comparable to the big bucks I was making when the MT business was booming with straight typing and high line rates.

I've been with MQ for almost a month. There are good things and bad things, just like any other company. I'm not totally happy but I figure if I ever get to a point that I don't like it as much as some others seem not to like it, then I will move on - just like I did when I left my last job.

Anyway, as for your questions, they pay $10/hr for the first 30 days and then your regular line rate thereafter depending on your tier. Once you start doing ASR, you get paid your straight typing rate for the first 30 days and then the ASR rate thereafter, which is 60% of your line rate. If you are still in your first 30 days when you train for ASR then you get the $10/hour for both ASR and typing. While you are making the training rate, if you produce more than $10/hr then you get what you produce. You start off with regular transcription for a couple weeks and then train for ASR. I like the MQ platform better than the last place I worked with the exception of not getting paid for typing the info for CCs, which I do think is pretty stupid. I am new to ASR and am not really fond of it but the way I look at it, it's a job and I don't have to make a fortune to survive as my job is supplemental income.

Every day ASR gets increasingly of base. There are so many times when I have to sit and search each line looking for anything that remotely resembles what is being clearly dictated. It started out with maybe 35% accuracy before editing. Now it barely makes 20%. I believe that these are old reports used for training, but I don't think they are training new MTs on the account. I believe they are training VR. Someone mentioned below that it doesn't make sense to pay someone to do old reports that have already been done, and I agree with that also. Just informed that I have to take MANDATORY HIPAA training without pay because I can take it "anytime on my OWN time!" LOL!!! The course is 45 minutes long!
