Not sure what to do. I had an interview on Monday and she said she would send me an offer letter. - Confused MT

I waited all day Monday and nothing came, so I emailed her yesterday ...... still nothing, no response whatsoever. I hate to keep pestering her but I was given a start date of 8/8, so I need to get the paperwork faxed, install date setup, training scheduled, etc. Part of me says to give it another day and then call her and another part of me says that this is a sign and just move on to something else.

Any ideas?

happened to me also but I just shot the recruiter an email and heard back shortly afterwards...good luck.

I was contacted by a recruiter, took the online test, she said I passed it and they wanted to hire me. She sent me an email stating I was hired and we set up a training date of Aug. 1. I was contacted again by email to fax over a copy of my drivers license and SS card, and given the password to the company site so I could set up my info (direct deposit) there. And then.....nothing. They were supposed to send me a foot pedal and info on how to download their platform. The recruiter won't even return my emails or calls now.

I was trying to figure out if this was just a scam to get my personal info, but everything seemed so legit. It's a well-known company, which I won't mention here (it's not MedQuist, I already work for them) and the test they had me take was at the MT test site and was difficult.

Not sure what to make out of all this. My training day came and went on Monday without a peep from them. Not sure if I would want to work for them now even if they did contact me again.

P.S. the company I'm talking about wasn't Softscript. - mb

I would be calling them not emailing them because they have everything they need to really screw you and should know better if they are legitimate. That would scare me!

I would give them a call at the HR department or call the recruiter. If it's the same one I dealt with they're terrific. Incidentally, congratulations I hope you like Softscript as much as I do.

Go with your gut, that's the best indication. I would move on, not a good sign.

I have an interview on Monday to work at a local veterinary clinic doing transcribing full time in house for animal patients. No joke, they have 17 doctors on staff and supposedly a ton of work. questions I want to ask. I usually ask about direct deposit, but in light of my recent experience of constantly being paid late (and still not paid!), I am thinking about asking them if they have had or are having any pay issues, but then I wonder if that might be an offensive question to ask, plus if they do not pay on time or at all, it is doubtful that they would say yes, so ....... If a company says send a resume, do you automatically send a cover letter too, or skip it? I'm old school and it seems wrong to not send a cover letter. On the other hand, they are probably busy and don't have time to read it. This company is not actively hiring, but they say they are always interested in qualified MTs. TIA ...

A few weeks ago, for no reason that I can find, I cannot get the first letter of a sentence to be in all caps automatically, (unless I do it manually.) The same for the letter " I " by itself when typed. It was always automatic and now all of a sudden it is doing this and I cannot figure out how to change it back. Got rejection E-mail for in-house job I applied for. Then less than 1 hour later, got rejection E-mail for a government clerk position I had applied for like 2 months ago. I have always gotten paid time-and-a-half for holiday pay on the Fourth of July, which is one of Medquist's holidays (or so it is listed as and always has been), and was told by CCM we would be paid time-and-a-half for that Monday's work done since even though it wasn't the fourth, it is when it is nationally celebrated. It means that if you do ACH you get your pay 9 days after you should have gotten your pay. Think about what that means for your bank account versus what it means for their bank account.
