Medscribe Health Information Management - ICMTinCO

Posted: May 24, 2012

Can anyone tell me about their experience working as an IC for MedScribe, located in West Palm Beach, FL, recruiter is in Colorado? I have been offered a position with 3 different companies, and they are the one I am leaning toward. Flexible schedule and Monday-Friday shift is a big plus. The pay isn't as good as some others, but getting the hours I want may be worth it. Just wanting to hear from someone who currently works for them or has very recent experience - both the pros and cons.

I could be wrong, but isn't that the MedScribe from NJ? - hmmm

Seems to me a few months ago, they were advertisting that they were starting a branch in the south Florida region, Miami I think, but WPB is just a short drive from there. If it is, then you would do well to research the company. During my stent there, I did not find the current owner, ahummm, loyality inspiring or working in my best interest.

They are in Florida - ICMTinCO

Website gives an address in West Palm Beach, FL and phone numbers for the same

never heard of them re transcription, then NM - hmmm

oh, you mean the mean with operations in Jacksonville FL - BTDT

[ In Reply To ..]
yes, look at prior posts down the page about them just laying off a bunch of people because an account when to SR and how they recruited people knowing they would be laying off those new hires. You can also do a search for the owner's name and find a newspaper article where he bragged about being able to watch his employees' computers to see when they are and are not working.

Oh, yeah, THAT Medscribe.

MedScribe HIM is different from MedScribe Info Systems - sm

I became curious about this some time ago.

MedScribe Information Systems in Jacksonville is owned and operated by the Langleys. This is the company that has had some not-so-glowing press lately.

MedScribe Health Information Management's CEO is someone named Perry Wolkis, and the VP is Michele Wolkis. The company has offices in FL, NJ, and CO. The COO is someone who was formerly a heavyweight at AHDI, I guess; this alone would suggest the company's leanings.

You would think a company would want a unique name, wouldn't you? At first I thought the two might be related somehow, but even the logo is quite different. Maybe the owners are second cousins or something.

The difference between the two - finally

The one from NJ/NY is branching out. This is their website:

http://www.medscribeonline.com/

The one with the MT operations out of Jacksonville has this website:

http://www.med-scribe.com/

Two different families, two different companies. Boggles the mind to think either wants to be mistaken for the other.

The website for the company I am asking about is:
http://www.medscribeonline.com/tag/health-information-management/

that is the one that relocated to FL from NJ/NY - see the post just underneath this

[ In Reply To ..]
The post just underneath this post is from someone currently working for them. I won't say everything I know about working for the current owner, but I stand behind my opinion that he does not inspire loyality. Maybe the person who used to be a big part of AHDI who is now really running the company would be more trust worthy? cough, cough...

This is the one that used to be in NJ, recently relocated to Florida, e-mail me if you want information, I work there now.

I was fired from this company for (wait for it) telling the QA manager that the term is rotator cuff interval tear when she had dinged the term in a report of mine and told me the term is rotator cuff integral tear. I'm not kidding one bit. I was fired on the spot. I wondered at the time how on earth she ever got the title of QA Manager.

Sunny posted in wrong place? - MedScribe HIM QA

[ In Reply To ..]
This string started out being about MedScribe HIM in NJ and now also FL. As I have been the QA manager for this company for 9 years, I can assure folks this never happened at MedScribe HIM but there are lots of companies with similar name. Just setting the record straight. Have a wonderful weekend!

If you're the only QA Manager who has worked for Medscribe HIM (that has a location in Teaneck, NJ) for the past nine years, then you're the person who didn't know that it's rotator cuff interval tear but insisted that it's rotator cuff integral tear. I wouldn't be broadcasting such a lack of medical terminlogy knowledge if I were you. I have all of the e-mails to prove that I'm telling the truth and that I was fired after correcting your ding in my report, so it's not wise of you to tell "folks" that it didn't happen. And I didn't post my message in the wrong place. I didn't start the thread but simply replied to the message on this board, so if my reply is in the wrong place, then so is the message that I replied to, and I certainly don't think that's the case. Now the record is entirely straight. And you can have whatever type of weekend that comes your way, pleasant or otherwise.
Attitude much? - MedScribe HIM QA
[ In Reply To ..]
Wow, that must be some grudge you have been harboring!

I was just questioning if you really meant MedScribe HIM and you say you did, so my curiosity is satisfied. In which case, of course, I again have to confirm that MedScribe HIM has never fired anyone for disagreeing with a QA comment on a single occasion over 1 word. In addition, it is policy not to terminate anyone at all if there is an alernative resolution.

Therefore, some aggregious issue must have been involved if indeed you were in fact terminated. Given your attitude here I imagine the Company Manager may have taken exception if you were this nasty to her on even 1 occasion and she very well may have fired you on that basis regardless what the subject of the discussion.

So I thank you for your response and now I am finished with this subject.

To the Only QA Manager Working for Medscribe HIM for the Past Nine Years (I like to address people by whatever title they say is theirs):
Number 1: Everyone knows (except you, apparently) that my calling you out for saying I'm lying about this situation does not equal a grudge or an attitude problem on my part.
Number 2: Everything I posted is true.
Number 3: Aggregious? And this spelling is by someone who calls herself a "QA manager." I rest my case.

To everone reading this thread: You can see what type of person will be your QA manager should you ever hire on with Medscribe HIM. What an embarrassment for this company to have the professed "only QA manager working for them for the past nine years" showcase her complete lack of command of the English languaged right here in public. The truth ALWAYS comes out, and we've seen a perfect example of that here.
oops - MedScribe HIM QA
[ In Reply To ..]
LOL - misspelling shows my mind wandered and I did not spellcheck the post. Kind of negates your assertion though that someone would be fired for pointing out an issue with a QA comment, since QA staff are still MTs and very human and can make mistakes as easily as the next person.

Health Care Management Or IT?
Aug 17, 2010

I'm going back to school to get out of transcription. I currently do QA. I have a 2-year degree in health information technology and am trying to figure out whether to go get a Bachelor's in information technology and health informatics or go for a business degree with a healthcare management emphasis.  I know electronic records are taking over and health informatics is a growing field. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know with IT I'd need to keep up a bunch of certificat ...

Medscribe Florida - Any New Information
Oct 22, 2014

Last couple of posts that came up there were no responses to.  Makes me wonder if it is one of those companies that don't encourage their employees to speak freely. Could Anyone Who Has An HRA (health Reimbursement Arrangement) Type Of Health Care
May 04, 2010

tell me how that works?  I know the insurance premiums are less than a regular health plan.  If your  company puts 500 in your account, does that mean the first few times, for example, until you use up the 500, you don't pay ANYTHING or is it the opposite...you pay the entire office visit cost until you reach that 500?  I would be so grateful for any information about this type of plan.  TIA ...

Not Management
Mar 08, 2010

I am not management!  You just don't get it.  I hate to say it, but many of you are too miserable here to see the good... for whatever reasons.   I am an MT.  I'm tempted to put my real name and MQ e-mail, but what for.  I've said what I did because I am doing okay, because I have been through frightening changes before with MQ and it has always worked out.  It seems foolish to tell you my real name though, as you mostly are a bunch of whining loser ...

Is It Some New Management Technique Not To Say Thank You To
Sep 22, 2010

I'm a high producer and self starter. I don't need hand-holding.  But, geesh, it's just human nature to want to hear a sincere, individual compliment for a job well done sometimes, if for no other reason than it motivates me to do a better job and make the company more money.  At some point, it seems most management has started to treat the worker bees as enemies instead of part of the team.  It's short-sighted and lazy, and I know it has to be costin ...

Performance Management

I haven't been put on PM yet but fear I might.  Got an email that said I had a "low-scoring feedback report."  It was for using follow up instead of followup (I know better) and then omitting the word "the."  Now, I will own up to these mistakes, they WERE my mistakes, but by no means life-threatening in any case.  But apparently this caused my score to drop below 98%.  Now I'm terrified they are going drop my pay by 3 cents a line, and I am already in danger of not being able to ...

Dear Management
Jun 09, 2011

Dear Management,  I have enjoyed working for you for the past several years ... best place I have worked in during my 20+ years as an MT.  HOWEVER, why do you find it ethical to find ways to sneak in the back door and take money out of my pocket, thinking I will not notice.   Yes, I understand, you need your own line counting system because the one I type in for the client gives me partial credit for headers and footers, and of course I shouldn't get credit for those after ...

Incompetent Management
Jul 05, 2011

After years of going through this, finally I have no other conclusion to draw but that it's pervasive.  I am talking about incompetent management. They talk about "the team" this, "the team" that.  But they have NO concept of what teamwork is, so that is just lip service. If I make a very simple request for something that will make the work flow more efficient and help everyone, I am either blown off completely or told "we will TRY to do that, but we're ...

How Do You Get Management To Listen.
May 30, 2012

The MTs on my account have constantly complained about 1 doctor on VR who does not belong there!!  We are simply typing his reports for the lesser pay.  We have complained directly to our supervisor about it and nothing has been done because we do not send the reports to QA.  Certainly, you can understand what he is saying, that is not the problem.  The problem is he will not speak in complete sentences, and spells everything, so how can you send this to QA?  It signific ...
