I applied on Sunday and received a call from their recruiter on Monday afternoon. They have several positions to fill for a new hospital in AL that in starting soon and I accepted a position with them. I had to complete a computer form and also employee paperwork but they sound like a nice place to work and the line rate was good.

I work for them as an IC. They got the hospital I was subcontracting for which I had retired from so I went with the work so I was familiar with the dictators and the formatting. They are nice people. As an IC checks are "mailed" not direct deposited, so can be late, 3-5 days. I see 1 person was hired and congrats to you. I do feel bad for the MTs that worked for that hospital that are now going to be in our shoes. I have 35 years doing this, I was taught to care about my reports as each report belonged to a person waiting for those results, technology has taken that away by expecting a "computer" to understand. I retired because of VR 7 years ago, now doing VR from this facility and it is still as bad if not worse than it was then. Yes, we have lost in this age of technology, but the patient is the one that is the big loser, higher medical costs and compromised medical care because doctors are spending more time on the computer looking at your history than examining the patient. A person can no longer trust the doctor and needs to get copies of all of their records and find the mistakes themselves and have them corrected. It is sad our society has put the almighty dollar above all with never a thought to the person that is waiting for that report and the effect it may have on their life.

"They really think they're invisible," Langley chuckles.
"I'm worried about technology making us obsolete," Langley concedes.
"Employees clock in with a "Web clock" and the system boots them out if they've stopped working for longer than five minutes. 'I know what they're not doing,' Langley says."

Can someone that works or has worked for GIS please explain this to me?
I was offered a position for straight typing at GIS. I was told that the pay is only 5 cpl, despite years of experience. I was told by the recruiter that it is 90% template work and my average pay would be 15 cpl and that is why they could only offer the 5 cpl.
Is this true? I really need a job, but can't imagine how to make money with 5 cpl. ...
I saw a message asking if anyone knew anything about Global informations Systems.
I worked for them in the past. My advice is to not take a job with them. They never give raises and the line count pay is so low it is rediculous. They outsource to India. Lastly the training they provide is nonexistent. You will also not be paid for any testing you perform. ...
Is there anyone here who is/has worked for Global Information Systems who can tell me what they're like to work for?
I tried to use the search function, but they seem to have changed how the search function works and I'm not coming up with anything at all. ...
Has anyone ever taken a verbal test for this company and, if so, was it difficult? I have never been asked to do a verbal exam before. Would appreciate any input. Thank you. ...
Last couple of posts that came up there were no responses to. Makes me wonder if it is one of those companies that don't encourage their employees to speak freely.
I see they have had some ads recently and would like more current information. I know no company fits everybody, but would like to hear there are some happy campers there before I apply.

I have checked the archives and I couldn't find a lot of current info on Medscribe in Jacksonville, FL. Anyone recently or currently work with them on the ChartNet platform? Any info is appreciated. TIA ...
Can anyone tell me about their experience working as an IC for MedScribe, located in West Palm Beach, FL, recruiter is in Colorado? I have been offered a position with 3 different companies, and they are the one I am leaning toward. Flexible schedule and Monday-Friday shift is a big plus. The pay isn't as good as some others, but getting the hours I want may be worth it. Just wanting to hear from someone who currently works for them or has very recent experience - both the pros and cons. ...
I do not work for MQ, but why would a client want to outsource to a company who penalizes their transcriptionists for getting a second opinion on a questionable dictation BEFORE it reaches them? Isn't that what they pay the company for, finished quality reports, not having to fill in blanks themselves? What I see is a lot of people protecting their pay by sending blanks to the client that a fresh ear may be able to fill in or, worse yet, a lot of guessing going on. If I were a hos ...
Can anyone tell me the line rates for transcription and QA, how long it takes to get your first check and how it comes (DD?), volume of work, general climate and anything pertinent you feel like sharing. Don't want to make another TTD type mistake. Thanks for your time and willingness to share! ...
I left MModal back in June with my supervisor telling me that she was expecting to see raises when the new compensation plan was revealed. I was one of the many who took a significant pay cut in July 2011 and finally got out. Just wondering if things are any better at MModal, as was promised. ...

Exit and "disposal" plan exposed in the report which also states "targeted" employees don't know about it. Do they think we can't read their stuff on the web??? It will occur over the rest of 2010. In other words, we are so low they consider us garbage to be disposed of. Unbelieveable as a lot of us left have worked for this company over a decade. Where's our gold watch, for cryin out loud??? ...
I'd like to post my tips for getting through the day: I have at least 8 different accounts (so far, keep getting more...)
I made a print out of each client profile, but for quick reference I have colored post it notes with tips like:
stacked/nc (for H&P and ROS), means stacked, mixed case (no caps...)
pt name (+ or -), patient's name allowed or not.
date format # Some accounts allow the date to ...
I got an email today with a bunch of FYI... do it this way, type it that way. I suppose it will be helpful at some point, but I just got feedback... back and for the first time ever I was corrected to type H and P instead of H&P. How do you type it, does anyone know how it is supposed to be? I think H and P looks stupid.
Also, doc dictated vital signs: see nursing notes and then went back later and changed it to unremarkable. The QA changed it back to see nursi ...
Have a hospital where you are to phonetically spell name if not given (it wasn't except to call him "Steven") QA so kindly sent me QA feedback and the only thing on there was that apparently Steven was actually spelled "Stephun." Is that ACTUALLY going to be of any help in the future? QA wonders why we have an attitude? DON'T WASTE ANY MORE OF MY TIME THAN IS ALREADY BEING WASTED. ...
