Has anyone ever heard of Johnson Medical Group. They guarantee you have a job once you take tests and are up to par on their expectations. You have to pay $295.00 for their materials and training. It's an IC job, so I would have to invest in hardware for my computer too because the companies I worked for before furnished equipment. I tried to look up reviews of them on the Internet but could not find any.

their website. There is no way to contact them, no information as to the location of the company, just information harvested from other sites, no details about the company, etc.

Any company that asks you to pay a fee to work for them is a scam. Some companies will charge you for a foot pedal or if you use their computer, and the usually take the money from your check over a few months. No way should you have to pay for software.

TranScam as we call them was located in Florida the last I heard. They have changed their names several times and moved to a different state at least once. You never are good enough to get real work, unless the work they send you is real and they are just having you type it for free. Sometimes the software doesn't work and they have it setup where it is purchased through a third part (probably another one of their bogus companies) and they won't help you get your money back because you didn't buy the software from them.

They are so bad that they have an F with the BBB, and I think it was Family Fun magazine did a story about them to warm people.

I don't know that this is the company we know as TranScam, but like I said the scam is the same.

Sherry, this sounds very similar to a scam perpetrated by a company called TransAm years ago who earned the nickname TransSCAM. You had to buy their software, and I think it was about the same price. You were also an IC. They would tell you you would only start to get paid once you met their quality expections, the only thing was people almost never got to the point of meeting them. I only heard of one on these boards, who after a lengthy time, actually started getting paid. I think this may be them with a new name or someone who has taken their idea and are tryingn to run with it. Stay away!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have run across tons of scams for work at home jobs but never one for medical transcription. I, too, tried to look them up on the Internet and found nothing, am staying away from this one!!!

Its there, tho other info on just an internet name search indicates they moved or closed that office listed on Manta.com.

Agree - don't pay to work - not for equipment or software. If they can't pay for anything, can they afford you?

Why would you even consider paying for a job??????? You shouldn't have to pay to work. If anyone is asking you to pay for something related to working for them, BEWARE! Run, run fast.

I applied for a job with them. I received an email to transcribe a dictation to continue with my app and start an interview.

When I tried to reply with my transcription, I received a mail failure notice that the email address was rejected.

Not sure what the problem is.

My company just told me they were trying to bring on some projects where there would be multiple people speaking, like in a conference/meeting, about healthcare. They said they wanted me to transcribe it and to include time stamps every 5 minutes. How do you keep track of who is speaking? Sometimes trying to keep up with 1 mubbling doctor is hard enough, but now 5+ people? At almost everyone of our weekly meetings there is a coworker who complains about everything. She is never happy and monopolizes each and every meeting.
