I see complaining and complaining on these companies a lot in the last few weeks/months, but I dont understand it.

First you are offered pennies on the dollar and then fuss about no Christmas gift. (duh if they cant pay a decent wage, what makes you think they will splurge on a gift). Then repeatedly people come on here and warn you about taking a job with these companies, and yet you do it anyway and then all i see are vents and people upset with their job.

Come on. Either suck it up or move on. Yow what it was going to be like when you took the job. I'm not trying to be mean but you have to use that noggin for common sense when taking these jobs. Thats what this sounding board is for to help others from making the same mistakes over and over, but yet you guys never listen.....

I work at TTS, I make the 4/8 like others but can average what I think is reasonable salary from that, averaging around $150.00 per day. Others here also not all upset about TTS.

In order to make 150.00 a day you need either one of the following line counts:

straight typing - 1875 lines a day to make 150.00

-- or ---

VR 3750 lines a day to make 150.00.

So you are telling me you can do almost 4000 lines a day or nearly 2000 straight? I don't see you doing that every day. Maybe once in a blue moon. I don't believe you at all!

Some years back I worked at another place and the companies read this board, believe it or not. I posted something and the manager replied to my posting asking was this me and called me by name! I can only say for my first hour today I hit over 600 lines, VR only. It is entirely doable. No reason to lie about this.

The fastest I have been able to understand the best dictation is about 325, so you can guess running 0 on the worst dictation. There is no way anyone could understand dictation at 600 in an hour. Something real different about your line counter.

I did not give my company name, reread and you will see this, so my question is this. How could I be a cheerleader for the company if no company is named? There are 3 companies at the top of this post. I said could not give the name of mine because I know owners and higher ups read these posts. I know that with 100% accuracy and with my particular situation, I give that out and someone would probably know who I am. I do not want the company to know I post here. One lady some years back posted something which came back to haunt her. In case you did not hear she was sued by her company, do not know the outcome of that but I never post bad things nor do I post good and call names. You can think what you want but you need an extremely good platform in order to be fast. If the platform gets every other word wrong, puts in wrong punctuation, etc. you cannot get the line count you want. I worked 1 time at a place several years ago and forgot the platform but my line count was horrible. I quit that job because I knew what I was capable of and the next job back up to what I made back in the days. Believe or don't, up to you.

I averaged 450 lines for VR an hour for that one day. I think that many people can become proficient in VR and be consistent with it. I am not an advocate for VR as there is entirely too much work to do for the amount of pay, but the poster didn't tell you how much they were making per line either. I was getting 5.5 cents. Yes, the line count would be higher to VR than to type, but I certainly believe it can be done. Just because you are not doing something doesn't mean someone else isn't.

Probably not for an 8 hour shift all day every day, but I have had times that I macro or "normal" or template for an hour (and sometimes more - often a dictating MD who is trying to catch up on reports) and do this easily with 100% quality. Doesn't happen often, but of course it is possible. Silly to say it isn't. (MT x25 years.)

What I do have is an excellent platform and I unlike many others here do not have umpteen different accounts. What I do have is acute care, many ESLs and ops which are my favorites, the ops that is. I one time hit 800 for the first hour of the day, 1st and only time. If the work is there on VR I will average over 4000 lines per day.

You can only play dictation but so fast before it becomes a garbled mess. I just think you like to hear yourself argue. 450 I can believe - not 650 every hour or more.

afford to pay more, just choose to not. It would be nice if they would "splurge" a little spread the joy a little bit. But then they probably need the money for that extra fuel for their yacht for the Christmas parade. Secondly, some people cannot work outside the home for whatever reason and are really stuck with the low pay and accepting these horrible jobs. Others have put out resumes to never hear back from other companies and cannot leave before they get other employment.

After 20+ years in the industry, I've seen a lot of changes, but these big companies take the cake. They all want to be the big dog and think that eating up smaller companies, dropping everybody's wages, and sending the work to India and generally becoming a company that MTs ran from should be a goal or something to be proud of. According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

What we were told is that it was a "partnership". They were just described to us as a new HR company taking over our HR Department.
