A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
Okay, so got the e-mail about making sure our contact information is correct within their system and giving us a date by which we should make sure it is correct. What is up their sleeve next? I don't trust with these people who seem to communicate very little and are normally very disorganized, want to just "make sure" all their info is correct and up to date. There has to be a reason, especially because it comes with a deadline and we are nearing the year anniversary of the "merger."
These people seem to enjoy chipping away at us every few days. It really is cruel. Even if I didn't like it, I would have respected them if they just laid their cards on the table all at once and let us make educated decisions. I feel like this process of slow psychological torture is somehow part of their plan so we all trickle out the door instead of exiting all at once.
Anybody turn in their notice today?
I have another job lined up out of the transcription business (AT LONG LAST), but I know if I did the right thing and gave a 2-week notice, I would be told that I can just go ahead and leave at that time. There isn't enough of a workload for them to care, and I can't afford not to have some kind of income between now and when my new job starts. If this was just TTMS, I would of course do the decent thing and give a notice, but we all know it's not TTMS anymore.
As for the personal information that they are asking us to update or correct, they can bite me. I gave them everything they needed when the "merger" took place.
I agree with your point of view about all of this being psychological torture. If they had laid their cards on the table from the get-go, I would have been able to make a decision at that time about my future. Instead, I have sat here for a year putting up with all the BS they've slung at us, becoming complacent because there was still enough work (before January), and being the dutiful MT -- until one by one, my accounts are either gone or there isn't enough work on the ones I have left -- and that's just in the last 1-1/2 months.
I've had 25+ years too much of this. I can't believe the amount of time I've wasted trying to make this work, especially in the last 10+ years, where I have gone through 3 buyouts - and they have gone exactly like this one with imedx has gone. Exactly. I should have known, but when you like what you do... you have these stupid blinders on and keep hoping for the best. And now we're all in the same boat -- all looking for work elsewhere -- all at the same time. Good luck to everyone. I'm never coming back to medical transcription again. I won't let the door hit me in the azz
