I wonder if I can give SoftScript the same excuse for not working that they gave me sm - almost ex SSMT

They are still running the ad portraying outsourcing as evil. You'd think they would know the difference between outsourcing and offshoring.

A few more days and it will not be my issue anymore ........

Consistently running out of work since mid December- but maybe now that everyone is quitting, it will get better. I am only part-time, so I am still there - but probably don't expect to get full-time lines.

Ewww! Don't go there. The supervisors are impossible and their platform stinks. I was constantly getting pop ups from them when trying to work. Their accounts are really awful.

Wow, you just brought back a few memories for me!!!

I absolutely hated those Softscript "boo" notices that would pop up on my screen while I was working. They made me jump out of my chair every time! It probably wasn't so much just the pop up itself, but that horribly loud "critical stop" computer tone that it plays while it suddenly and unexpectely throws you out of Word and back over into their main system screen just about made my heart stop every time.

And the crazy thing is that the supervisors were using those stupid "boo" pop ups for all MTs, so 99% of the time, it was a notice about an account that wasn't even mine. Scared me half to death for nothing! LOL

I don't know what you mean when you say popups. I have only been there 3 months, but never had any of that and no problems with the supervisors. I think people should stop bashing. They are vigilent regarding work ethics and schedule, as well they should be.

since no one tells you about them. The "bashing" you speak of is not bashing in quite a few instances and actually legitimate complaints. Glad your 3 months is going well! I hate to say I hope it lasts, really and truly. The boos come much less often with the PMs in place just so's u know.

I have more than 8 accounts I have worked for and they asked if I wanted another one today after running out of work for an hour now. If I cannot keep a full-time schedule with 8 accounts, what is the point of hiring?

No doubt the low work is due to President's Day. There's always an excuse. nm - JMO

I have "hung in there" and basically starved and done without waiting month after month for work. During what is considered a busy season for our profession, there is nothing and still they're out there hiring. Their required line count seems low, but if you get certain accounts it's basically impossible to get it and you have to in order to make minimum wage on their part. If you have no work, you still have to sit there and wait and keep checking to see if any comes in. Yes, the people are certainly nice enough, but the set up is the worst I've worked with, as far as the work goes. What the person said about 8 different accounts and being full time is true .. what they didn't mention is that EVERY account has different account specifics and if you have to do work on an account you're not familiar with, you have to go over all the specifics and sent the work to QA. A waste of money, it would seem, all the way around!

So, call me a basher .. not a problem .. but for anyone who really needs a decent job and income to support themselves and/or their family, unless you have some special connection with this company, I wouldn't recommend it. I do know there are some good accounts, as I've had to type them to help out in the past, so that might be part of my problem too. However .. there are older posts in here too that don't reflect how it is now, regarding not being paid on time, etc. They're all good with that.

giving the FULL account numbers are you always out of work on. Maybe we can figure this out for the supervisory types, at all companies, by sharing some information. Are the accounts you run out on beginning with a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. It seems some are out frequently and some less frequently. I wonder whether it is easy or difficult accounts that are always out. My guess would be the easier accounts run out more often...

Anybody else from any and all companies have ideas on how we can network away from this forum to figure out solutions to the problems that are repeatedly brought up here

I have been working for SoftScript for about 6 months now. I seriously cannot say enought good things about them. This is the best company I have ever worked for and believe me I have worked for several transcription companies. The pay is awesome AND on time. The system is very easy to use.
