I desperately need to hear from ex Transportal MTs - sm

When I was getting all that stuff loaded on my PC, he said whatever I do, do not run a system restore as it would break my machine. I just wonder if any ex MTs have done that and not had a problem. I feel it would take care of a lot of my problems. Thanks for any info!! Feel free to email me if you wish

I'm no tech wizard, but I've done system restore lots of times over the years and never had a problem from it. Sometimes it clears up the problem and sometimes it doesn't, but it hasn't "caused" a problem. I'm not Transportal, though.

Depending on the date you choose for a restore - it WILL reverse certain actions

Meaning that it could UNinstall programs, changes, etc., depending on what date you choose. It does not affect documents created - that I know of.

A system restore will not "break" your machine. That guy does not know what he is talking about. It will simply restore your computer to an earlier date. It will not break your machine in any way. The problem lies in how far back your restore points go. The furthest back mine go is to 02/02/2014. Unless you manually backed up and created a restore point, your dates may not go back far enough to restore your computer to the condition you want it restored to.

Either way... it will not break your machine.

That might well remove the settings he installed and return everything to default.

I have restored many times and my "customized settings" (in place since installation and at the time of my restore point) have not been removed.

I have my A++ Net+ meaning I can build a computer from scratch, install the software and network the computers. That being said, system restore will not harm your computer but as people pointed out, you may not have a restore point far enough back to eliminate the software the company installed. You can try restoring your computer to factory settings instead. Be sure to save any important pictures and/or documents as EVERYTHING WILL BE ERASED and it will be like the day you brought it home from the store. Also you MUST UPDATE your computer and sometimes there are hours and hours of updates depending on how old your computer is. Hope this helps.

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...

pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...

i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage.
