Doesn't sound very good there either. OMG are there any companies out there who respect their employees and pay a decent salary with no VR ??????????????
Oracle is a very good company to work for but... - sm

their pay rate LATELY is horrible. There are several different rates, anywhere from 7.5 cpl to 9 cpl. and you're lucky if you can get any of the 9 cpl. I don't even know if they still pay any 9 cpl.
I'd LOVE for people at OTI to post what they get paid, but I doubt anyone would have the nerve.
I personally like Oracle - but

I find that a couple of the "higher ups" are quite rude/snotty.
the above poster is correct, only get $0.075 cpl on one account and $0.08 on the other but that barely has any work and when it does everyone is like vultures on it.

Was there about 11 months - easy platform (Bayscribe) and nobody bothered me. Had plenty of work all the time. If the pay had been better, I would have stayed, but I got a better offer and took it. I'd go back in a heartbeat if they offered me the right money.

I put in a resume and never got called. Now I see they are hiring again. No thanks to Oracle! They don't appreciate anything!
Just curious - me

Why don't they appreciate anything, just because they didn't call you? Maybe you didn't meet their requirements? Putting in a resume doesn't automatically ensure a job.

Been working for OTI for a year now. Straight typing for 0.08 a line. Wish it was more, but I left Medquist after 15 years going from a benefit rate of $20.00 an hour to about $12.00 an hour (line rate was 10.5 a line). Everyone I have come in contact with at OTI has been very nice and helpful, especially the QA department which was horrible at MQ. After being employee of the month one time, suddenly I was threatened with performance monitoring. I'm so glad I left and work for OTI now.
The flexibility of scheduling is also a real plus. Almost didn't go to work at OTI because of the two hours they require each weekend, but I usually get it over with early Sat a.m. Works for me.
How do you think the head person of WEB started out? I believe it was from learning the business from MQ. Before WEB, it was Spheris. Before Spheris, it was MQ who was previously known as MRC Group and Transcription Limited who joined and became MQ. Previous to MRC Group, it was Secrephone/Medifax where some of the managers started out and became CEO/COO/board of directors.
All these CEO, COO, financial officers, board of members all know each other and used to wor ...
The layoffs seem to be posts from Evelyn, Liz, Donna, Sue, Lee, Ruth, Pegge, Ginger and so on.
Another post stated she talked to her TSM and it was all rumors.
I do not mean to offend anyone, but I am part time and have overtime work tonight and for this weekend. Maybe due to people being laid off?? The thing is, I do not work my hours like I should because I am so SICK of this job after being here way too many years to care anymore. I have another job ...
An MT posting a complaint on this board is one of the reasons it is here!!! If you don't like them, move on. You do not have to read them, and you certainly do not have to respond.
While I do not agree with personal attacks on a board or anywhere else on individuals, complaining about pay, workload, or company practices should not be considered complaining, but very useful information, maybe not to all, but probably to some.

I'm working for one company and do not like it. I don't want to make a switch to another company that is just as bad. Do you like KS? Feel free to email me because I see the haters come on here when anything positive is said. Thank you. ...
I am working on starting up my own MT business (as you have maybe seen by some of the other posts I have sent) and I have been reading some of the latest posts and have seen discussions about this being a dying business and I have seen many people are getting out of this field and venturing elsewhere. Up until the holidays, I was making a great living and I guess with the holidays underway, I am still waiting on work. I thought that this would have picked up by now but I have n ...
Can anybody cheer me up. This is so disgusting I have just decided to take early Social Security retirement because my pay is soooo low, and the limit for 2013 to earn is $15,320. So I guess these disgusting pay rates are good for one thing. ...

Maybe if MModal hired fewer employees from Microsoft they could afford to pay transcriptionist better and allow for cost of living raises. I have been a transcriptionist for going on 30 years and this company is one of the reasons we can't make a living wage. I am so tired of hearing the term "industry standard" because in the past when I worked with other companies and directly in-house I was paid more. Just because it is the "industry standard" does not make it right. &n ...
I have a friend who has his own small business and was the victim of identity theft. He now has to refile for the years of 2005-2012 and really cannot afford to pay a CPA for all those years and needs to purchase (at a great deal) TurboTax, TaxAct, or similar good quality software that is for home and business (with state preferred, but not 100% necessary). I know he was looking online to find these, but I figured I'd ask here for him since a lot of US are self-employed and migh ...
I will be finished with school at the end of this month. Does anyone hire recent grads? How can I get into the field if everyone wants to hire only those with experience? I could use some help on this. Please let me know if anyone has any advice.

See below for what Nuance did for 4th Quarter 2012. - it is very involved - but - at the top of page two they state they expect revenue from Healthcare to be 1 BILLION in 2013 - Then on page 3 in the Question/Answer section Paul Ricci Chief Exe Officer states:

I am a member of AAPC and just received and reviewed AAPC's 2012 Salary Survey Results. You must be a member to read the survey. Because of the alarming wage decline as a medical transcriptionist, I decided to become certified as a coder and AAPC certification can be achieved sooner than AHIMA certification. I took AAPC's online course in February, achieved the CPC-H certification in September and have an apprentice designation. I am now searching for employment.

Very strange things going on where I live in the South. This morning AT&T phone is not working right, My unfortunate status as on dial up is hopeless and the two phone lines I have seemed to be crossing each other. Bad static, fax line noises. Trying to connect and can get only 19K!!! Can't get anything to pull up. Called Support and addressed this problem. Called AT&T and they did say there are problems in this area, and it migh ...

I haven't had much work for months. Since last summer actually. Can never make minimum. I have another part-time job so I'll survive, and I do like that company on a whole, but there has been NO WORK. They keep promising new accounts that never happen. Is it just me? Are there some Oracle workers that are happy and have enough work? I know sometimes it is famine time as an MT, but this is ridiculous. I wonder if they lost some big accounts or somethi ...
